2017 Amstel Gold Race (women's Race)
The fourth edition of the Amstel Gold Race for Women was a road cycling one-day race held on 16 April 2017 in the Netherlands. It was the sixth event of the 2017 UCI Women's World Tour. The race started in Maastricht and finished in Berg en Terblijt, containing 17 categorized climbs, covering a total distance of 121.6 km. It was won by Dutch rider Anna van der Breggen. It was the first edition of the women's Amstel Gold Race after a 14-year hiatus. With the reboot of the women's event and the creation of a Liège–Bastogne–Liège (Women), women's Liège–Bastogne–Liège, in addition to La Flèche Wallonne Féminine, the women's season has the same trio of Ardennes classics as the men's. The Omloop van het Hageland (Tielt-Winge) is an elite women's professional road bicycle race held since 2007 in Belgium. Originally a 1.2 rated race by the UCI, it is now a 1.1 category race. Before 2011 the race was a criterium of category 1.NE and was called Tielt-Winge (Wielertrofee Vlaanderen). Italian National Road Race Championships
The Italian National Road Race Championships are held annually. They are a road cycling race which decides the Italian cycling champion in the road racing discipline, across several categories of rider. The event was first held in 1906 and was won by Giovanni Cuniolo. At the beginning there were often back-to-back wins from many riders. Costante Girardengo made the remarkable achievement of 9 wins between 1913 and 1925. Perhaps if it were not for the First World War, which blocked the running of the championship for four years, from 1915 until 1918, Girardengo would have gained additional victories. Despite this, he also holds the record for most consecutive wins, with 7. After his winning streak ended, another Italian cycling legend, Alfredo Binda, won 4 races in a row.
