Il Nostro Concerto
"Il nostro concerto" is a 1960 Italian song composed by Umberto Bindi (music) and Giorgio Calabrese (lyrics). The song premiered at the Italian Music Festival in New York, in which was performed by Miranda Martino and placed third. It eventually was Bindi's major hit, whose version topped the Italian hit parade for several months. The symphonic structure of the song was inspired by Richard Addinsell's "Warsaw Concerto". Umberto Bindi
Umberto Bindi (12 May 1932 – 23 May 2002) was an Italian singer-songwriter. He is especially known for the popular song he co-wrote with Gino Paoli, ''Il Mio Mondo'' (" You're My World"), which he recorded in Italian in 1963. It was later performed by singers in English and other languages. Life and career Bindi was born in Bogliasco ( Province of Genoa), Italy, and was classically trained. He wrote his first song, "T'ho perduto" ("I've Lost You"), in 1950. He made his professional debut in Italian popular music in 1959 with his composition, " Arrivederci". The song was recorded by Don Marino Barreto Jr., and soon became the best-selling single in Italy for that year. A cover version was recorded by Chet Baker in 1960 for the Italian film, ''Urlatori alla sbarra''. Bindi's first album, ''Umberto Bindi e le sue canzoni'', was released in 1960. Paola Musiani
Paola Musiani (25 November 1949 - 8 January 1985) was an Italian singer. Life and career Musiani was born in Vignola, Modena. At the age of 16, while making her accountancy studies, Musiani started singing in the dance halls of her region. In 1966, after taking part in a singing contest with a cover version of The Monkees' "I'm a Believer", she was put under contract by CBS."Paola Musiani" in Gino Castaldo (edited by). Christian (singer)
Gaetano Cristiano Vincenzo Rossi (born 8 September 1949), best known as Christian, is an Italian singer, mainly successful in the first half of the 1980s. Background Born in Palermo, the son of a policeman and a housewife, at young age Rossi was a football player for Palermo and Mantova F.C., but had to quit for a cardiac arrhythmia. He started his career as a singer in the early 1970s, and got his first hit in 1980, with the song "Daniela" which ranked at the seventh place on the Italian hit parade. Often paired with Julio Iglesias, with whom he shared some authors and a similar style, between 1982 and 1984 Christian had four singles peaking at first place on the Italian hit parade. Between 1982 and 1990 he also entered the main competition at the Sanremo Music Festival six times, ranking third in 1984 with the song "Cara". Luciano Tajoli (17 April 1920 – 3 August 1996) was an Italian singer and actor. Fausto Papetti (Viggiù, 28 January 1923 – San Remo, 15 June 1999) was an Italian alto saxophone player. A jazz musician by formation, Papetti became widely known for producing instrumental covers of some of the most famous pop and jazz songs. Jimmy Fontana
Jimmy Fontana (13 November 1934 – 11 September 2013) was an Italian actor, composer and singer-songwriter. Two of his most famous songs are " Che sarà", performed also by José Feliciano with Ricchi e Poveri, and " Il Mondo". Biography Born Enrico Sbriccoli in Camerino, Italy, after graduating from high school, he moved to Rome to study Economics. In his spare time, Fontana taught himself bass and attend local jazz venues. Eventually, he dedicated himself completely to music and adopted the stage name Jimmy Fontana in homage to one of his heroes, American musician Jimmy Giuffre.
