Giuseppe Bennati
Giuseppe Bennati (4 January 1921 – 26 September 2006) was an Italian film director and writer. He directed ''Il microfono è vostro'' (1952), ''Musoduro'' (1954), ''L'amico del giaguaro'' (1958), ''Labbra rosse'' (1960), ''Congo vivo'' (1961) and ''L'assassino ha riservato nove poltrone'' (1974), his last movie. For RAI in 1970 he directed TV-movie ''BattleToads'' (Italo Calvino's bestseller) with Nanni Loy. He died in Milan, Italy, aged 85 from undisclosed causes. Quartetto Cetra
Quartetto Cetra (; ) was an Italian jazz vocal quartet established during the early 1940s and active until 1988. Career The band was based on the Mills Brothers and started performing under the name Quartetto Egie from the initials of the singers' first names: Enrico Gentile, Giovanni Giacobetti, Iacopo Jacomelli, and Enrico De Angelis. Although they sang American songs such as "Tiger Rag", they wrote songs and scatted in Italian. Quartetto Egie made its debut on May 27, 1940 at the Valle Theatre in Rome. They performed the song "Bambina dall'abito blu" ("Little Girl in a Blue Dress"). When Virgilio Savona replaced Iacopo Jacomelli, the band was renamed Quartetto Ritmo. Giacomo Furia
Giacomo Matteo Furia (2 January 1925 – 5 June 2015) was an Italian film, television and stage actor. He appeared in more than 130 films between 1948 and 1998. Life and career Born in Arienzo, near Caserta, Furia started his acting career thanks to Eduardo De Filippo, he had met through an after-school summer job; he made his professional debut on stage in 1945, in De Filippo's "Napoli milionaria". He made his film debut three years later, in Mario Mattoli's '' Assunta Spina''; mainly cast in character roles, he was often a sidekick of Totò, notably landing a major role in ''The Band of Honest Men''. His credits include films directed by Federico Fellini, Vittorio De Sica, Roberto Rossellini and Francesco Rosi. In 1997 Furia released an autobiography written in collaboration with Michele Avitabile, ''Le maggiorate, il principe e l'ultimo degli onesti''. He died on 5 June 2015, aged 90. Gorni Kramer (22 July 1913 – 26 October 1995) was an Italian songwriter, musician and band leader. Biography He was born Francesco Kramer Gorni at Rivarolo Mantovano (Lombardy). Despite the exotic sound of Gorni Kramer in the Italian language, which led part of his audience to believe he was a foreigner or had adopted a fancy pseudonym, it was his real name. His family name was Gorni, and Kramer his middle name, after the American cyclist Frank Kramer, who won the road race at the 1912 World Championships and made a strong impression on Gorni's father. Kramer learned music at a very young age, thanks to his father, a musician. The first instrument he learned how to play was the accordion, with which he performed as a child in his father's band. Nunzio Filogamo (20 September 1902 – 24 January 2002) was an Italian television and radio presenter, actor and singer. Life and career Born in Palermo, Filogamo moved to Turin at a young age, then he studied law at the Sorbonne University and at the Turin University, where he graduated. After working for two years as a lawyer, he started a career as a stage actor, entering the companies of Dina Galli and of Irma and Emma Gramatica. In 1934 he debuted as a radio actor in the variety show ''I quattro moschettieri'', which lasted four years and gave him a large popularity. After the outbreak of war, Filogamo was hired to host several variety events for soldiers and wounded people; later, he continued to work as a presenter of the shows reserved for the Allied forces which were held at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome.
