Ijegu is a community in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. Ijegu is made up of four (4) communities namely Ore,Ogohu,Oke and O’onyi.Ijegu seats on the coastal belt of Okpoku flowing through river niger.It is home of the Agi(s) (late Malachy Ogar Agi, late Chief Fidelis Aju Ogar, Pa Ehlebi Oko, Sir Livinus Agi, Prof. Simon Peter Imaje Agi, late Paul Oloko Agi FCA,S P I Agi jr, SAN Joe Agi, Comr.(Hon) Ogar Emmanuel Oko (the Ijegu Ojor Public Relations Officer and the publisher of the RABBIT PUNCH), Barr. Denis Ogidi Ogar, Mr. Anthony Ohobu Ehlebi, Chief Michael Oko Ehlebi,Barr. Emmanuel Oheta Agi etc.), late Professor Oko, Professor Edde Iji. Yala, Nigeria
Yala is a Local Government Area in Cross River State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Okpoma in the east of the area at . It has an area of 1,739 km2 and a population of 210,843 at the 2006 census. This makes Yala the second most populated LGA in Cross River State, coming after Akpabuyo. The postal code of the area is 550. The dominant tribe in the Area are the Yala. Major settlements in Yala LGA include Okpoma, Okuku, Yahe, Ugaga, Ijegu, Oloko, Imaje, Oke, Echumoga, Woda, Ebo, Igede Edii Nation, Itekpa, Maa, Wonye, Uchu, Osina, Mbuor, Aliforkpa, Echumofana, Wanihem, Wanikade, Wanokom, Ijiraga, Ntrigom etc. Yala is also a language spoken by some inhabitants of Yalaland.
