''Ihda (Dedication) ( ar, اهداء) is the debut album by DAM released in November 2006 by British record label Red Circle Music - RCM. It is DAM's debut album and the first Palestinian hip hop album. The album was licensed to EMI Arabia to distribute it in the Middle East except for Palestine where it was distributed independently. DAM (band)
DAM ( ar, دام) is a Palestinian hip-hop group. DAM was founded in 1999 by brothers Tamer and Suhell Nafar and their friend Mahmoud Jreri. Their songs are largely about racism, freedom, Israeli occupation and poverty . DAM raps primarily in Arabic, but also in English. DAM has released more than 100 singles and three albums—''Dedication'', ''Dabke on the Moon'' and ''Ben Haana Wa Maana''—as well as an EP—Street Poetry. DAM's lyrics are largely protest-driven, and their songs were centering around fighting against oppression, Israeli occupation, racism, poverty, drugs, and for women's rights. In January 2017, they signed with the London-based independent record label publishing and services, Cooking Vinyl. For their UK and EU touring schedule, the band is represented by X-Ray Touring. Tamer Nafar
Tamer Nafar ( ar, تامر النفار, he, תאמר נפאר; born June 6, 1979) is an Israeli rapper, actor, screenwriter and social activist who identifies as Palestinian. He is the leader and a founding member of DAM, the first Palestinian hip hop group. Early life Nafar was born to Fawzi Nafar and Nadia Awadi. He grew up in poverty in Lod, a mixed Arab-Israeli city in Israel, which was a major hub for drug smuggling and crime. Tamer discovered hip-hop at age 17, when he began learning English by listening to Tupac and translating his lyrics to Arabic using an English-Arabic dictionary. Career Tamer recorded his first single "Untouchable", a reference to '' The Untouchables'' movie. In 1998, Tamer released his first EP ''Stop Selling Drugs'', featuring his younger brother Suhell. Sayed Kashua ( ar, سيد قشوع, he, סייד קשוע; born 1975) is a Palestinian people, Palestinian author and journalist born in Tira, Israel, known for his books and humorous columns in Hebrew and English. Biography Sayed Kashua was born in Tira, Israel, Tira in the Triangle (Israel), Triangle region of Israel to Palestinian people, Palestinian Muslim-Arab parents. In 1990, he was accepted to a prestigious boarding school in Jerusalem – Israel Arts and Science Academy. He studied sociology and philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Nour El-Sherif
Nour El-Sherif ( ar, نور الشريف; 28 April 1946 – 11 August 2015), born Mohamad Geber Mohamad Abd Allah ( ar, محمد جابر محمد عبد الله) was a prominent Egyptian actor. He has 6 films in the Top 100 Egyptian films list. El-Sherif was born in the working-class neighbourhood of Sayeda Zainab in Cairo. El-Sherif was married to Poussi (1972–2006) and together they had two daughters, Sarah and Mai. He got divorced from Poussi in 2006 and they reunited in early 2015 during the difficulty of his illness. He also played soccer before choosing acting as a career. Nour El-Sherif is sometimes credited as Nour El Cherif, Nour El-Cherif or Nour Al-Sharif. He died on August 11, 2015, Cairo, Egypt.
