Igor Levitin
Igor Yevgenyevich Levitin (russian: Игорь Евгеньевич Левитин) (born 21 February 1952) is a Russian political figure, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation since September 2013, and Class 1 Active State Advisor of the Russian Federation (2013). He previously served as the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation (from 9 March 2004 until 21 May 2012). He is the Chairman of Supervisory Board of the Table Tennis Federation of Russia. He is also a member of the President Advisory Council at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and president of European Table Tennis Union until March 2022 when he stepped down temporarily due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Mikhail Fradkov's First Cabinet (March - May 2004) was a cabinet of the government of the Russian Federation during the presidential election of 2004, preceded by the cabinet of Mikhail Kasyanov, who had been dismissed by President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2004, and followed by Mikhail Fradkov's Second Cabinet immediately after Vladimir Putin's second inauguration. It was led by Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov, proposed by President Vladimir Putin for the approval by the State Duma on March 1, 2004. Baikal–Amur Mainline
The Baikal–Amur Mainline (russian: Байкало-Амурская магистраль, , , ) is a broad-gauge railway line in Russia. Traversing Eastern Siberia and the Russian Far East, the -long BAM runs about 610 to 770 km (380 to 480 miles) north of and parallel to the Trans-Siberian Railway. The Soviet Union built the BAM as a strategic alternative route to the Trans–Siberian Railway, seen as vulnerable especially along the sections close to the border with China. The BAM's costs were estimated at $14 billion, and it was built with special, durable tracks since much of it ran over permafrost. Due to the severe terrain, weather, length and cost, Soviet general secretary Leonid Brezhnev described BAM in 1974 as "the construction project of the century".
