Ignacio Peña
Ignacio Peña Vidal (born 21 April 1973) is a Puerto Rican rock singer/songwriter, musician, producer, video director and editor, and multimedia creator. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, Berklee College of Music in Boston, Peña rose to fame in the Latin market with the release of his debut album "El Mundo al Revés" in 2000 and the subsequent tour which saw him perform festivals in Argentina, Venezuela, Panama and the United States. His albums have garnered critical acclaim and are considered by many to be some of the best rock music to come out in Spanish. In 2010, Peña debuted his most ambitious project to date. An educational multimedia concert designed for schools entitled "The Great Planet Earth Debate". Peña has been invited to speak at educational conferences and universities in the United States and his native Puerto Rico and was awarded an honorary degree from the Sistema Universitario Ana G. Río Piedras, Puerto Rico
Río Piedras is a populous district of San Juan, and former town and municipality of Puerto Rico, which was merged with the municipality of San Juan in 1951. The district today is composed of various '' barrios'' (these are the primary legal divisions of municipalities in Puerto Rico) such as Pueblo and Universidad. La Secta AllStar (or simply La Secta) is a rock en Español band from Puerto Rico. The band members are Mark Kilpatrick (bass guitar), Gustavo Laureano (singer), John Lengel (drums), and Mike Genao (guitar). They are known mostly for the song "La Locura Automática". Gustavo Laureano is a Puerto Rican guitarist and composer. He is best known for being the lead singer of the band La Secta AllStar. Career As a songwriter and solo artist Laureano began his career as a songwriter, together with friend Mark Kilpatrick. In the 1990s, Laureano and Kilpatrick started writing and playing at clubs in Florida and Puerto Rico. At some point, they were discovered by Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin, who recorded the song " Bombón de Azúcar", written by Laureano, on his 1995 album ''A Medio Vivir''.
