The 9K38 Igla (russian: Игла́, "needle", NATO reporting name SA-18 Grouse) is a Russian/Soviet man-portable infrared homing surface-to-air missile (SAM) system. A simplified, earlier version is known as the 9K310 Igla-1 (NATO: SA-16 Gimlet), and the latest variant is the 9K338 Igla-S (SA-24 Grinch). The Igla-1 entered service in 1981, the Igla in 1983, and the Igla-S in 2004. The Igla has been supplemented by the 9K333 Verba since 2014.New Russian Verba MANPADS will replace Igla-S

Igla (spacecraft Docking System)
The Igla (russian: Игла, "Needle") docking system was a Soviet radio telemetry system for automated docking of Soyuz spacecraft. The first prototypes were made in late 1965. On 30 October 1967, the first automated docking of Soyuz unmanned spacecraft took place. Problems * The Soyuz 15 mission was aborted when the system failed to dock to the Salyut 3, on 26 August 1974. There was no manual backup system. * Salyut 5, launched on June 22, 1976, was equipped with an improved radio system. On July 6, 1976, Soyuz 21 had problems undocking automatically, but was able to undock manually. Soyuz 23 failed to dock, ran out of fuel to manual dock, and returned to Earth. *The Igla docking system suffered an engine failure on Soyuz 33 on 10 April, 1979. After consideration by ground crews, the mission was aborted by firing the back up engines and initiating a ballistic reentry. Bella Gesser ( he, בלה גסר), Igla ( he, בלה איגלה; russian: Белла Игла; born June 2, 1985), is an Israeli chess player holding the title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM). In 2004, she won the Israel Women's Chess Championship. Igla started her career at the Russian Chess Federation, playing in competitions including the Russian Youth Chess Championship ( ru), in the categories U12 and U16. She moved to Israel in 1998. Igla transferred national federations from Russia to Israel in 2001. Igla represented Israel in three Chess Olympiads: * The 36th Chess Olympiad in 2004, Calvià, Majorca (Spain), at board 3, with a 69% result (+6 =6 −1). * The 37th Chess Olympiad in 2006, Turin, Italy, at board 3, with a 59% result (+5 =3 −3). * The 38th Chess Olympiad in 2008, Dresden, Germany, playing at the second/third boards. She achieved an 80% result (+8 =0 −2), helping her country arrive at the ninth place in the women's competition.

International Gay And Lesbian Aquatics Association
The International Gay & Lesbian Aquatics Association (known as IGLA) is the international governing body for predominantly LGBT+ aquatics clubs, representing the sports of swimming, diving, artistic swimming, water polo, and open water swimming. Member clubs are from 16 countries, with the majority of clubs in the United States and Canada. Past presidents of the association have included Scott Kohanowski (of Team New York Aquatics) and Gareth Johnson (of Out to Swim London). IGLA is one of the key organisations involved in the licensing of the Gay Games, which are held every four years.
