Iga Baumgart
Iga Baumgart-Witan (born 11 April 1989) is a Polish sprinter specialising in the 400 metres. She won several medals at major championships as part of Polish 4 × 400 metres relays, including a gold in the mixed relay and a silver in the women's relay at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Baumgart-Witan represented Poland in relays at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympics as well as at five World Championships. She won three Polish national titles. The women's 4 × 400 metres relay at the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships took place on 20 March 2022. Summary The United States was the fastest qualifying team from the morning heats but it was Junelle Bromfield from the slowest qualifying team, Jamaica who appeared to take a slight lead through the first two turns. From the cones, Lieke Klaver, running her fifth fast 400 metres within about 56 hours, accelerated Netherlands past Bromfield to take the lead at the bell. USA's Na'Asha Robinson tried to get past Klaver but was held off, forced to running wide through the penultimate turn. Bromfield then went by on the inside, chasing after Klaver. The European Athletics Team Championships (European Team Championships until 2013), is an international athletics competition organised by European Athletics, between different countries of Europe, over 4 leagues. The 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held between 1 and 3 March 2019 at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland. This was the second time this event was held in the city after the 1990 edition and the third time it was held in the United Kingdom, following the 2007 Edition in Birmingham, England. The three-day competition featured 13 men's and 13 women's athletics events and took place over three morning and three afternoon sessions. Bids Apeldoorn, Glasgow, Minsk and Toruń all submitted bids to host the 2019 European Indoor championships. Glasgow were chosen to host the 35th edition of the event with 9 votes ahead of Toruń with 6 votes and Apeldoorn with 1. It is 29 years since Glasgow had last hosted the championships.
