August Wilhelm Iffland
August Wilhelm Iffland (19 April 175922 September 1814) was a German actor and dramatic author. Life Born in Hanover, his father intended him to be a clergyman, but Iffland preferred the stage, and at eighteen ran away to Gotha in order to prepare himself for a theatrical career. He received instruction from Hans Ekhof, and made such rapid progress that he was able to accept an engagement at the theater in Mannheim in 1779, beginning his rise into prominence. In Mannheim, he played the lead role ''Franz Moor'' in the acclaimed premiere of Friedrich Schiller's The Robbers in 1782. He soon stood high in his profession, and enhanced his reputation by frequently playing in other towns. In 1796 he settled in Berlin, where he became director of the national theater of Prussia, and in 1811 he was made general director of all presentations before royalty. Franz Iffland
Franz Iffland (1862–1935) was a German sculptor and painter who worked during the late 19th and early 20th century. He was born in 1862 in Berlin, Kingdom of Prussia. The majority of his sculptures were influenced by the jugendstil movement but late in his career, beginning in the mid-1920s, he produced a number of art deco sculptures. Iffland died in Berlin, Nazi Germany in 1935. Early career Iffland received his formal training at the ''Königliche akademische Hochschule für die Bildenden Künste''. He was primarily known for his small bronze statues of young children and bust sculptures of young women. He was a painter as well, however sculpture dominated his output during his career. Artistic style The majority of his work was produced during the art nouveau or "jugendstil" period from 1887 to 1910, but late in his career he produced a number of art deco bronzes of nude women and genre statues of ordinary working people such as blacksmiths and farmers. Rhiannan Iffland
Rhiannan Iffland (born 9 September 1991) is an Australian high diver. She is a six-time consecutive Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series champion (2016-2019, 2021-2022). She won her first championship in 2016 as a wildcard entrant in her debut year, the first-ever rookie to do so. Early life Rhiannan Iffland was born in Newcastle, New South Wales, on 9 September 1991. She grew up in Nords Wharf and trained at Belmont High School in trampolining with former world champion Brett Austine. After using her skills in a move to diving, from 2001 to 2006 she trained at the Hunter United Diving Academy, then joined the NSW Institute of Sport, training with future Olympic medallists Melissa Wu and Matthew Mitcham.
