Idukki Orthodox Diocese
Idukki Diocese is a diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. The diocese was formed in 1982 with the parishes in Idukki district in Kerala. The Idukki Diocesan metropolitan's bishop house is Gathsemon Aramana which is situated at Chakkupallam. Zachariah Mar Severios is the Metropolitan of Idukki Diocese. History ''Idukki Diocese'' was formed in 1982. This diocese was formed by the partition of Kottayam Diocese in 1982. The first metropolitan of ''Idukki Diocese'' was Mathews Mar Barnabas. He bought the land at Chakkupallam and constructed the bishop's house named Gathesemon Aramana. Geography The parishes in the diocese scattered across large geographical area. Located in the hilly forest area, the distance among the parishes are quite far from each other. Paulose II (Indian Orthodox Church)
Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Paulose II (born K. I. Paul at west mangad ); 30 August 1946 – 12 July 2021) was the primate of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. He was enthroned as the 8th Catholicos of the Malankara Church and the 21st Malankara Metropolitan on 1 November 2010, succeeding Didymos I. Severios Abraham
Mor Severios Abraham is a Syriac Orthodox bishop. , he is the Metropolitan of Angamali region of the Angamali Diocese and Abbott of Mor Gabriel Dayro (Monastery). He is the most senior metropolitan in the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church. Early years Abraham Alukkal was born as member of the Alukkal family in Peechanikkad, Ankamali on 12 July 1941. Baselios Marthoma Mathews III (born 12 February 1949) is the present Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, serving as its primate. He was enthroned as the 22nd Malankara Metropolitan on 14 October 2021 and as the 9th Catholicos on 15 October 2021 at St. Peter and St. Paul's Church, Parumala, succeeding Baselios Marthoma Paulose II. Mathews Mar Barnabas
Mathews Mar Barnabas (9 August 1924 - 9 December 2012) was a Metropolitan of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. Early life Mathews Mar Barnabas was born as one of a set of twins to Kuruvilla and Mariamma from the Kidangethu Thompra family in Kallarackaparampil house at Valayanchirangara, India. His grandfather and uncle were Orthodox priests. In his childhood, he was called Mathukutty. At the age of seven, he made the decision to become a monk and became vegetarian. His sister later became Rev. Sister Mary, a member of the Kishakkambalam convent. He and his twin brother used to stay in the Gathsemon Dayara monastery at Piramadam, near Muvattupuzha during their school vacation and experienced monastic life under the guidance of their uncle Fr K.P.
