Idriss Ndélé Moussa
Idriss Ndélé Moussa Yayami (17 April 1959, Faya-Largeau – 20 May 2013, N'Djamena) was a Chadian dental surgeon, academic and politician. He was the president of the African Union's Pan-African Parliament from 2009 to 2012. He became president on 29 May 2009. The other leading contenders for the presidency were Sawadogo Lassane and Mostefa Abdelaziz El-Gendy. Moussa received a majority of votes of the members of the Pan-African Parliament. Early life A dental surgeon by profession, Moussa served as assistant professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of N'Djamena. He was married and had six children. Moussa held several leadership positions within the National Assembly of Chad, and served for several years in the Pan-African Parliament. He also served as Secretary General of the Conseil Supérieur de Transition (CST), which acted as a provisional parliament from the National Sovereign Conference in Chad. Faya-Largeau
Faya-Largeau (also known as Faya, ar, فايا لارجو or ) is the largest city in northern Chad and was the capital of the region of Bourkou-Ennedi-Tibesti. It is now in the Borkou Region, which was formed in 2008 from the Borkou Department of the former Bourkou-Ennedi-Tibesti region. History Originally called ''Faya'', the town was renamed ''Largeau'' after French Colonel Victor Emmanuel Largeau; upon Chadian independence from France, it assumed the name ''Faya-Largeau''. The town was captured by Libya when Libya annexed the Aouzou Strip in 1975, but was retaken by Hissène Habré's forces in 1980. Libya recaptured Faya-Largeau in 1983, but retreated in 1987. Economy Due to the considerable underground water supply in the town, the main economic activities are agriculture and natron mining. Gertrude Mongella
Gertrude Ibengwe Mongella ( Makanza; born 13 September 1945) is a Tanzanian politician who is the first president of the Pan-African Parliament. Early life and work Mongella was born in 1945 on Ukerewe Island. In 1970, President Mongella graduated from the University of East Africa in Dar es Salaam. For four years she was a tutor at Dar es Salaam Teachers Training College. In 1974, she became curriculum developer for the Dar es Salaam Institutes of Education, which she did until 1978. From 1977-92, President Mongella was a Member of the Central Committee and National Executive Committee of the CCM party. From 1975-82, she was a member of the Council of the University of Dar es Salaam, Also during this time she was on the Board of Directors for the Tanzania Rural Development Bank. Bethel Nnaemeka Amadi (25 April 1964 – 10 February 2019) was a Nigerian politician. He served as President of the Pan-African Parliament between 2012 and 2015. Career Amadi was born on 25 April 1964 to parents from Imo State. He went to the University of Jos where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Law with Honors. He was called to the bar in 1986. In the early 1990s Amadi worked in the oil business in Nigeria and together with others he founded a law firm. Between 2012 and 2015 he served as President of the Pan-African Parliament. N'Djamena ( ) is the capital and largest city of Chad. It is also a special statute region, divided into 10 districts or ''arrondissements''.
