Idol (Norway Season 5)
''Idol: Jakten på en superstjerne 2007'' was the fifth season of Idol Norway based on the British singing competition ''Pop Idol''. In difference to other seasons it was aired in the second half of the year running from September to December 2007. After a two-year absence Jan Fredrik Karlsen returned to the judging panel as the foreperson. He was joined by Asbjørn Slettemark, Benedicte Adrian and Mariann Thomassen. Also the two hosts were new to the show in person of Marte Stokstad and Kyrre Holm Johannessen. The Age limit to audition was raised from 28 to 35. Eventual winner Glenn Lyse profited from that rule as he was 33 at the time of his win which also made him the oldest winner of the Idol series worldwide. Lyse beat Bjørn Johan Muri, who was half his age (17), at the final with 56%. Jan Fredrik Karlsen
Jan Fredrik Karlsen (born 17 June 1973 in Slemmestad) is a Norwegian artist manager and television personality. Karlsen has worked in the Norwegian music industry since his late teens working for popular Norwegian comedians/singer/songwriters Herodes Falsk and Tom Mathisen. In his thirties, the music journalists in Norway's third largest newspaper ''Dagbladet'' in January 2004 voted him the most powerful man in the Norwegian music industry. Karlsen is manager of, among others, Kurt Nilsen, who won Norwegian Idol in 2003 and consequently World Idol and Alejandro Fuentes who came in 3rd place in Idol 2005. Karlsen was a judge in the Norwegian edition of ''Idol'' in 2003, 2004 and 2007, and was also one of the judges in the only season of World Idol in 2003. Linnea Dale (born 22 April 1991) is a Norwegian singer. Early life Linnea Dale was born in Tinn, Telemark, Norway. She attended the high school Skien videregående skole. ''Idol'' She was a contestant on the fifth season of the Norwegian ''Idol'' series in 2007, finishing in seventh place. Tammi Terrell (born Thomasina Winifred Montgomery; April 29, 1945 – March 16, 1970) was an American singer-songwriter, widely known as a star singer for Motown Records during the 1960s, notably for a series of duets with singer Marvin Gaye. Terrell's career began as a teenager, first recording for Scepter/Wand Records, before spending nearly nine months as a member of James Brown's Revue, recording for Brown's Try Me label. After a period attending college, Terrell recorded briefly for Checker Records, before signing with Motown in 1965. Marvin Gaye
Marvin Pentz Gay Jr., who also spelled his surname as Gaye (April 2, 1939 – April 1, 1984), was an American singer and songwriter. He helped to shape the sound of Motown in the 1960s, first as an in-house session player and later as a solo artist with a string of successes, earning him the nicknames "Prince of Motown" and "Prince of Soul". Gaye's Motown songs include "Ain't That Peculiar", "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)", and "I Heard It Through the Grapevine". "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" is a song written by Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson in 1966 for the Tamla label, a division of Motown. The composition was first successful as a 1967 hit single recorded by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, and became a hit again in 1970 when recorded by former Supremes frontwoman Diana Ross. The song became Ross's first solo number-one hit on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971.
