Idiat Amusu
Idiat Aderemi Amusu (born 27 November 1952, in Kano) is a Nigerian engineer. She is the first female agricultural engineer in Nigeria and the first female council member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). She was among the original founding members of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) in 1983. Education She attended St Theresa College, Ibadan and Baptist High School, Iwo where she finished her secondary education. She proceeded to University of Nigeria Nsukka and obtained BSc in agricultural engineering in 1977. She graduated with a second class Upper Division and became the first female graduate of agricultural engineering in Nigeria. She later acquired a Postgraduate Diploma and a Masters in Food Science and Technology. National Youth Service Corps
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a program set up by the Nigerian government during the military regime to involve Nigerian graduates in nation-building and the development of the country. There is no military conscription in Nigeria, but since 1973 graduates of universities and later polytechnics have been required to take part in the National Youth Service Corps program for one year. Moshood Abiola Polytechnic also known as MAPOLY is a tertiary learning institution in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. The Ojere campus is in the South-Eastern part of Abeokuta, covering about 960 hectares of rolling land bounded by the Ogun River to the south.
