Idastrandia
''Idastrandia'' is a genus of jumping spiders endemic to Singapore. Its only described species is ''Idastrandia orientalis''. Kálmán Szombathy Kálmán is an ancient Germanic origin Hungarian surname and male given name. Outside Hungary, the name occurs sometimes in the form Kalman. It was derived from the Germanic name: Koloman, Coloman or Kolman. The Germanic name Coloman has been ... described a single male in 1915, which is about five millimeters long. There are drawings in the original description, and the male pedipalp and unusual serrate cheliceral tooth has been drawn by Proszynski in 1983. ''Pseudamycus'' is a spider genus (biology), enus of the jumping spider family, Salticidae. The monotypic genus ''Taivala'' is thought to be closely related. Appearance These jumping spiders are light or colorful, sometimes iridescent. The cephalothorax is high, with steep sides of the thorax. The eyes protrude from the head, located within an orange-brown eye field. The rest of the carapace is greyish-orange, the abdomen light grey-brown with dots and light and dark streaks on the sides.
