Idaho High School Activities Association
The Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) oversees high school athletics and activities in the state of Idaho. Idaho high schools are classified in five categories, based on enrollment, for league competition and state playoffs and championships. The IHSAA recognizes 18 specific sports. Schools primarily compete within their own classification for regular season play, but are allowed to play other schools one classification above or below them in most sports. Capital High School is a three-year public secondary school in Boise, Idaho, United States. Opened in the fall of 1965, it was the third of four public high schools constructed in the Boise School District, and serves its northern portion. The other high schools are Boise (1902) in the east, Borah (1958) in the southwest, and Timberline (1998) in the southeast. The Capital High boundary includes sections of Eagle and Garden City. Hillcrest High School (Idaho)
Hillcrest High School is a four-year public high school in Ammon, Idaho, east of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Idaho Falls. Opened in 1992, it was the second high school in the Bonneville School District. The school mascot is the Knight and the School colors, colors are red, black, and white. Bonneville High School (Idaho Falls, Idaho)
Bonneville High School is a four-year public secondary school near Idaho Falls, Idaho. Northeast of the city, it opened in 1951 and is the original high school of the Bonneville Joint School District #93, which consolidated ten smaller districts east of Idaho Falls. The original building for high school was turned into a junior high in 1977 when the current Bonneville High School was built. A second traditional high school in the district opened in 1992, Hillcrest in Ammon, and Bonneville now serves the northern portion. The school colors are green and gold and the mascot is a bee. Current enrollment is approximately 1,400. In 1950 the vote was put forward to bring together 10 little schools, some of them were Iona, Lincoln, Ammon, and Ucon. It passed however there was not a school for them to attend. Blackfoot High School
Blackfoot High School is a four-year public secondary school located in Blackfoot, Idaho, the only traditional high school in the Blackfoot School District #55 in south central Bingham County. History Founded in the early 1890s, the current BHS building was built in the 1950s. It was given a new science wing in the mid-1990s and in the early 2000s, a new auditorium and gymnasium. The school, sitting adjacent to Stoddard Elementary, has full athletic grounds and a fine arts wing. In July 2012, Blackfoot High School announced it would offer Shoshoni language classes. Athletics Blackfoot competes in athletics in IHSAA Class 4A, the second-highest classification in the state. It is a member of the High Country Conference (4A) with Rigby and Bonneville. Timberline High School is a three-year public secondary school in Boise, Idaho. Opened in August 1998, it is the fourth and newest traditional high school in the Boise School District, serving its southeast portion. Originally opened as Les Bois Junior High in 1994, it was expanded and the junior high was rebuilt at a different location. Meridian High School is a four-year public secondary school within the West Ada School District located in Meridian, Idaho, comprising grades 9–12. History The school began classes in the year of 1904 at the corners of Pine Street and Meridian Road, in a one-room schoolhouse. Meridian High was the first high school in the Meridian area. During most of the twentieth century, Meridian and surrounding areas were separated from Boise to the east by a significant amount of agricultural land, which later became developed. In 1975, a larger, more modern campus (initially containing four buildings) was built at the present location, at the intersection of Pine Ave. and Linder Rd.
