Idaho Legislative District 26 is one of 35 districts of the Idaho Legislature. Idaho Legislature
The Idaho Legislature consists of the upper Idaho Senate and the lower Idaho House of Representatives. Idaho is divided into 35 legislative districts, which each elect one senator and two representatives. There are no term limits for either chamber. The crossing of upper and lower house districts into a single constituency is found in only seven U.S. state legislatures: Idaho, Arizona, Maryland, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Washington. Marianna Davis
Marianna "Muffy" Davis (born December 1, 1972) is an American politician, former Paralympic cyclist, and alpine skier who served as a member of the Idaho House of Representatives for the 26A district from 2018 to 2021. Early life and education Davis was born in Sun Valley, Idaho. She was a top ranking junior skier and was poised to be named to the US ski team when an accident at the age of 16 left her paralyzed from the chest down. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology from Stanford University in 1995. Career Davis has traveled widely and competed in a number of disciplines. She won the bronze medal in slalom at the 1998 Winter Paralympics in Nagano, Japan. In 2000, she was the World Champion at Giant Slalom in Anzere, Switzerland. Idaho House Of Representatives
The Idaho House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the Idaho State Legislature. It consists of 70 representatives elected to two-year terms. The state is divided into 35 districts, each of which elects two representatives to separate seats. It meets at the Idaho State Capitol in Boise, Idaho, in the State Capitol Building. Composition of the House The Idaho House of Representatives has been continuously controlled by the Republican Party since the late 1950s, usually by a wide margin. Lenore Barrett
Lenore Hardy Barrett (born June 16, 1934) was a Republican member of the Idaho Legislature. Barrett served in the Idaho House of Representatives from 1992 to 2014. Education and career Barrett graduated from Ponca City High School, Oklahoma, and earned her bachelor's degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1956. Barrett was a director of the Salmon River Electric co-operative. Barrett was a Police Commissioner and Challis City Council member from 1984-1989. JoAn Wood
Joan Myrtle Wood (11 January 1909 – 27 November 1990) was a New Zealand educationalist and music teacher. She was instrumental in establishing nursery playcentres in the early 1940s, which later developed into the present-day playcentre movement. Early life Wood was born Joan Walter in South Weald, Essex, England on 11 January 1909. She grew up in England and South Africa and was Dux of Durban Girls' College in 1926. She then moved to Sydney and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Sydney in 1926. She met and married Fred Wood while in Australia. Wood taught music at a girls' boarding school in Armidale, New South Wales for two years. In 1935 her husband was appointed Professor of History at Victoria University of Wellington and Joan, Fred and their son moved to Wellington. Clark County, Idaho
Clark County is a rural county in the U.S. state of Idaho; its county seat and largest city is Dubois. As of the 2020 Census, the county had a population of 790, making it the least populous county in the state. History Establishment of stage coach stops along the route between Salt Lake City and the Montana mining towns were established at Beaver Canyon ( named after Beaver Creek (Camas Creek) ) and Dry Creek (now Dubois) in 1864.
