Ich Liebe Dich
''Ich Liebe Dich'' is the fourth and final single released by German band La Düsseldorf. The single was released in advance of a fourth album (to be called "''Mon Amour''") just before Valentine's Day 1983. ''Mon Amour'' was shelved soon after the single's release, although much of its material was worked into Klaus Dinger's debut solo album Neondian, including a remixed version of "Ich Liebe Dich". Background & Release Following the failure of La Düsseldorf's third album ''Individuellos'' in 1980, tensions between band members became more prevalent. Thomas Dinger recorded a solo album (''Für Mich'') in 1982, and drummer Hans Lampe threatened to leave the band. Meanwhile, Klaus Dinger used Teldec's sizable advance to build a studio near Kamperland in The Netherlands. La Düsseldorf was a German band, consisting of onetime Kraftwerk drummer and Neu! multi-instrumentalist Klaus Dinger and occasional Neu! collaborators Thomas Dinger and Hans Lampe. Thomas Dinger (28 October 1952 — 9 April 2002) was a German drummer, singer and songwriter who was active in solo pursuits in addition to having been a member of Neu! and La Düsseldorf, both with his brother Klaus Dinger, and 1-A Düsseldorf. Japandorf
''Japandorf'' is a 2013 album by Klaus Dinger and several other musicians, released under the name "''Klaus Dinger + Japandorf''" by Grönland Records. It was recorded in the year before Dinger's death on Good Friday 2008 and is the only one of three albums made since 1998 to have been released. It was originally intended to be released as a La Düsseldorf album, but this was blocked at the last minute by Hans Lampe, the band's original drummer. Background and recording In July 1998 Dinger disbanded La! Neu? after a final concert in Düsseldorf. After the concert he was approached by a Japanese artist named Masaki Nakao, who had moved to Düsseldorf from Japan in 1989. Over the next ten years Nakao and Dinger became close friends, and in 1999 Nakao introduced Dinger to a group of Japanese musicians living in Düsseldorf. Rheinita
"Rheinita" is a 1979 single by German band La Düsseldorf. It was the band's most successful single. The success of the single in both its 7" and 12" versions led EMI to offer the band a 1 million DEM advance, should they break their contract with Teldec. Recording & release Following the success of their debut album, La Düsseldorf decided to dispense with producer Conny Plank and buy their own studio in Düsseldorf. ''Viva'' evolved over several years in the studio, the band now having unrestricted studio access. The album was released in 1978, and was followed the next year by the "Rheinita" single. Unusually for a hit record it is instrumental (as was ''Silver Cloud'') and over seven minutes long in the full 12" version. Kamperland
Kamperland is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Noord-Beveland, and lies about 11 km northeast of Middelburg. History The village was first mentioned in 976 as Campan, and means "land of Kampen", a former village which used to be located in the area, and was lost in the flood of 1530. Kamperland is a road village which developed in the second half of the 18th century after the Heer Janszpolder was ''diked'' in 1699. Kamperland was home to 170 people in 1840. The Dutch Reformed church is an aisleless church which was built in 1901. A little open tower and consistory were added in 1911. The church was decommissioned in 1997, and is used as brasserie since 1998. From the 1970s onwards, a recreational zone developed near the harbour and along the Veerse Meer. ''Individuellos'' is the third album by the German band La Düsseldorf. It was shortly before the time ''Individuellos'' was released that La Düsseldorf's piano player Andreas Schell committed suicide. This is marked by a cross next to his credit. His credit for piano on "Das Yvonnchen" is the only musician's credit on the album. Writers' credits go to Klaus Dinger, Thomas Dinger (Tintarella Di ...), K+T Dinger (Dampfriemen), and Klaus Dinger, Thomas Dinger, Hans Lampe and Andreas Schell for "Das Yvonnchen". Musically, "Lieber Honig 1981" has nothing in common with NEU!'s "Lieber Honig"; it is an instrumental version of "Menschen". Néondian
''Néondian'' is a 1985 album by the German musician Klaus Dinger. ''Néondian'' was originally intended to be released as the fourth La Düsseldorf album (and titled ''Mon Amour''), but the departure of Dinger's two bandmates in 1983 and the ensuing legal battle over the band's name forced Teldec to release the album under the obscure moniker "Klaus Dinger + Rheinita Bella Düsseldorf" (referencing La Düsseldorf's best selling single - "Rheinita"). Recording The basic tracks for the album were recorded in 1983 by Klaus and Thomas Dinger at the newly built Zeeland Studios near the Dutch town of Kamperland. For the first time, Dinger had access to digital synthesizers and other new technology, which he made use of on the record. This later led him to dismiss the album as "mechanical music".
