Icche
''Icche'' (English:''Wish'') is a 2011 Bengali language Indian drama film directed by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy. This is the debut film of the director duo. The film is based on Suchitra Bhattacharya's novel and revolves around the relationship between an obsessive mother and her son. The film was presented by Rituparna Sengupta. Plot Manas is an insurance agent, who lives with his wife, Mamata, and son Shamik. Mamata is dissatisfied with her husband's way of raising their son differently and takes charge of his upbringing. When Shamik grows up, he starts rebelling against his mother's decisions and dominance. At the age of 16, Shamik falls in love with his first crush, Debjani. When hawk-eyed Mamata learns about this relationship, she gets worried as she is sceptical about Debjani's nature and doesn't think she is a good choice. Shiboprosad Mukherjee (, Bengali: ; born 20 May 1974) is an Indian film director, writer and actor. He, collaborating with Nandita Roy, debuted with their film ''Icche'', which garnered both critical acclaim as well as commercial success. Nandita Roy
Nandita Roy (born April 3, 1955) is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter. She made her directorial debut with the film ''Icche'' (2011) along with her co-director Shiboprosad Mukherjee. The two have also directed ''Accident'', ''Muktodhara'', ''Alik Sukh'', ''Ramdhanu'', ''Bela Seshe'', ''Haami'', ''Praktan'' , ''Posto (film), Konntho, Gotro''. She has been a part of several projects and has worked with many renowned directors. Early life Nandita Roy was born on April 3, 1955 in Mumbai. She attended high school at St. Joseph's Convent High School in the suburb of Vile Parle, and is an economics graduate of Parle College. Suchitra Bhattacharya (10 January 1950 – 2015) was an Indian novelist, known for works including ''Hemanter Pakhi'', ''Kachher Manush'', ''Aleek Shukh'', ''Icche'' and ''Kacher Dewal''. During her career as a writer, she composed over 20 novels and many short stories.
