Ibrahima Kalil Fofana (born 24 June 1998) is a Guinean basketball player, who plays for SAC and the Guinea national basketball team. Standing at , he plays as point guard. Early life and career Born in Conakry, Fofana played high school basketball in Canada with Georges Vanier Secondary School. Since 2018, Fofana plays for SLAC of the Guinean Ligue 1. In December 2021, he helped the team qualify for the 2022 season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Because the 2023 season of the Ligue 1 was cancelled due to struggles within the national federation, Fofana played on loan for Adjamé Sports Association of the Ivorian Basketball Championship. 2022 BAL Season
The 2022 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 2, was the second season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season began on 2 March 2022 and ended with the Finals on 28 May 2022. The group phase was played in the Dakar Arena in Dakar and the Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall in Cairo. The playoffs and finals were played in the BK Arena in Kigali for a second year in a row. Tunisian club US Monastir won the finals to win its first-ever BAL title, after defeating Angolan club Petro de Luanda in the 2022 BAL Finals. The 2023 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 3, is the third season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season began on 11 March 2023 and will end on 27 May 2023, with the playoffs and finals being played in the BK Arena in Kigali, which hosts the finals for a third season in a row. Seydou Legacy Athlétique Club, commonly known as SLAC, is a Guinean basketball team from Conakry. The team plays in the Ligue 1, as well as in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) as of the 2022 season. SLAC has won the Ligue 1 championship six times in history. FIBA AfroBasket 2021 was the 30th edition of the FIBA AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. The tournament was hosted by Rwanda for the first time. It was originally scheduled to take place between 17 and 29 August 2021, but it was moved back a week due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to 24 August to 5 September 2021.
