Ibrahim Muhammed Kirikasama
Ibrahim Mohammed Kirikasama (born February 1952) was elected Senator for the Jigawa North East constituency of Jigawa State, Nigeria at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic, running on the All People's Party (APP) platform. He took office on 29 May 1999. He was reelected in April 2003 on the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP) platform for a second four-year term. After taking his seat in the Senate in June 1999 he was appointed to committees on Labour, Women Affairs, Agriculture, Information and Social Development & Sports. His constituency contains the ecologically and economically important wetlands on the Hadejia River, threatened by changes to water release due to the upriver Tiga Dam. Jigawa State
Jigawa State (Hausa: ''Jihar Jigawa'' (Fula Leydi Jigawa 𞤤𞤫𞤴𞤮𞤤 𞤶𞤭𞤺𞤢𞤱𞤢) is one of the 36 states of Nigeria, located in the northern region of the country. Olusegun Obasanjo
Chief Olusegun Matthew Okikiola Ogunboye Aremu Obasanjo, , ( ; yo, Olúṣẹ́gun Ọbásanjọ́ ; born 5 March 1937) is a Nigerian political and military leader who served as Nigeria's head of state from 1976 to 1979 and later as its president from 1999 to 2007. Ideologically a Nigerian nationalist, he was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 1999 to 2015, and from 2018 has been a member of the African Democratic Congress party (ADC). Sule Lamido was born on (30 August 1948) served as Foreign Affairs Minister of Nigeria from 1999 to 2003. He was elected governor of Jigawa State in April 2007. Tiga Dam
The Tiga Dam is in Kano State in the Northwest of Nigeria, constructed in 1971–1974. It is a major reservoir on the Kano River, the main tributary of the Hadejia River. Description The dam was built during the administration of Governor Audu Bako in an attempt to improve food security through irrigation projects. The dam covers an area of with maximum capacity of nearly . Water from the dam supplies the Kano River Irrigation Project as well as Kano City. Hadejia River
The Hadejia River (Hausa: ) is a river in northern Nigeria and is a tributary of the Yobe River (Komadugu Yobe). Among the cities and towns that lie on or near its banks are Hadejia and Nguru.
