Ibrahim Balla
Ibrahim Balla (born 1 October 1990) is an Australian professional boxer. As an amateur, he competed at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and the 2012 Summer Olympics in the bantamweight division. Family background Ibrahim Balla was born in Werribee to an Albanian family that immigrated from Albania to Australia prior to his birth. Certain members of his family are boxers. His father Nuri was a Victorian amateur champion while his uncle Mitat Balla was an Australian amateur champion. Older brother Qamil Balla is also a professional boxer with a stellar amateur record. Younger brother Nasuf was also a promising boxer / trainer. Ibrahim Balla won his first Australian junior title in 2001 when he was just 11 years old. By 2012, he had won five Australian titles and a silver medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India. Jeffrey Christopher Horn Jr. (born 4 February 1988) is an Australian professional boxer who held the WBO welterweight title from 2017 to 2018. As an amateur he represented Australia at the 2012 Olympics, reaching the quarterfinals of the light-welterweight bracket. Amateur career As a relative newcomer to the sport, Horn won his first Australian title in 2009 and repeated the feat in 2011. A knockout (abbreviated to KO or K.O.) is a fight-ending, winning criterion in several full-contact combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, mixed martial arts, karate, some forms of taekwondo and other sports involving striking, as well as fighting-based video games. A full knockout is considered any legal strike or combination thereof that renders an opponent unable to continue fighting. He is competing in the Bantamweight (– 54 kg) division, and won the gold medal at the World Amateur Boxing Championships in Milano 2009.
