Ibestad ( sme, Ivvárstádik) is a municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Central Hålogaland. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Hamnvik. Some of the other larger villages in Ibestad include Engenes, Laupstad, Rollnes, Sørrollnes, Sørvika, and Å. The municipality is the 292nd largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Ã… is a village in Ibestad Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It is located about east of the town of Harstad on the southwest side of the island of Andørja, along the Bygda strait which goes between the VÃ¥gsfjorden and the Astafjorden. The village of Ã… and the neighboring villages of Laupstad and Ã…nstad altogether have a total population (2001) of 205 residents. The village is about north of the village of Sørvika where the undersea Ibestad Tunnel connects Andørja island to the neighboring island of Rolla, where Hamnvik, the municipal center is located. Andørja is a former municipality in Troms county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1926 until its dissolution in 1964. It was located in the northeastern half of the present-day Ibestad Municipality. It encompassed the entire island of Andørja plus a number of other small islands and skerries surrounding it. The administrative centre was located at Engenes where the Andørja Church was also located.
