Iberville Parish
Iberville Parish (french: Paroisse d'Iberville) is a List of parishes in Louisiana, parish located south of Baton Rouge in the U.S. state of Louisiana, formed in 1807. The parish seat is Plaquemine, Louisiana, Plaquemine. At the 2010 U.S. census, the population was 33,387, and 30,241 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. History The parish is named for Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville, who founded the French Louisiana (New France), colony of Louisiana. A few archeological efforts have been made in the Parish, mainly to excavate the Mound#North American archaeology, Native American burial mounds that have been identified there. The first expedition, led by Clarence B. Moore, was an attempt at collecting data from a couple of the sites, and it set the groundwork for later projects. Pointe Coupee Parish ( or ; french: Paroisse de la Pointe-Coupée) is a parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. As of the 2010 census, the population was 22,802; in 2020, its population was 20,758. The parish seat is New Roads. Pointe Coupee Parish is part of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 2010, the center of population of Louisiana was located in Pointe Coupee Parish, in the city of New Roads. Louisiana Highway 76
Louisiana Highway 76 (LA 76) is a state highway located in southeastern Louisiana. It runs in a general east–west direction from LA 77 in Maringouin to the junction of LA 1 and LA 987-4 in Port Allen. The route initially heads south from Maringouin alongside the bayou of the same name before turning east through the village of Rosedale. This portion of LA 76 makes a loop off of LA 77 and connects the two communities to Interstate 10 (I-10) via LA 3000 at Ramah. East of Rosedale, LA 76 crosses from Iberville Parish into West Baton Rouge Parish and parallels I-10 into Port Allen, the parish seat. Louisiana Highway 75 (LA 75) is a state highway located in southeastern Louisiana. It runs in a general east–west direction from a dead end in Bayou Pigeon to the junction of LA 22 and LA 942 in Darrow. The route makes a semi-circle through Iberville and Ascension parishes. Louisiana Highway 30 (LA 30) is a state highway located in southeastern Louisiana. It runs in a northwest to southeast direction from LA 73 in Baton Rouge to the junction of U.S. Highway 61 (US 61) and LA 431 east of Gonzales.
