Ian Robinson (publisher)
Ian Robinson (July 1, 1934 – April 20, 2004) was an English writer and artist and editor of Oasis Books. Biography Ian Norman Baker Robinson was born in 1934 in Osterley. His father was a civil servant and his maternal grandfather was the Music Hall artist Anchor Baker. His secondary schooling was at St Paul’s School in London where he secretly started writing poetry and eventually helped revive the magazine ''The Debator'', founded by G.K.Chesterton and E.C.Bentley. Following national service in the RAF, when he was based in Germany and learned Russian, he studied English at Oriel College, Oxford. He then taught in a comprehensive school for three years before working for the National Trade Press as a technical reporter and sub-editor. It was during this period that he developed an interest in typography, lay-out and design. Osterley
Osterley () is an affluent district of the historic parish of Isleworth in west London approximately from Charing Cross and is part of the London Borough of Hounslow. Most of its land use is mixed agricultural and aesthetic parkland at Osterley House (National Trust), charity-run, much of which is open to paying visitor access. Osterley is on the most elevated soil of the parish, dissected by A4 (The Great West Road) and extends further north than the M4 Motorway. Syon Lane forms the border to the east, while the border with the town of Heston is to the west. Osterley extends to the south of the A4 to at least Church Road based on house deeds, much housing existed before mid 1930s and before the A4, St Mary's Church south of the A4 is also in Osterley. Matthew Sweeney
Matthew Gerard Sweeney (6 October 1952 – 5 August 2018) was an Irish poet. His work has been translated into Dutch, Italian, Hebrew, Japanese, Latvian, Mexican Spanish, Romanian, Slovakian and German. According to the poet Gerard Smyth: "I always sensed that in the first instance weeneyregarded himself as a European rather than an Irish poet – and rightly so: like the German Georg Trakl whom he admired he apprehended the world in a way that challenged our perceptions and commanded our attention." Sweeney's work has been considered "barely touched by the mainstream of English writing" and more so by the German writers Kleist, Büchner, Kafka, Grass and Böll, as well as the aforementioned Trakl. Lee Harwood
Lee Harwood (6 June 1939 – 26 July 2015) was a poet associated with the British Poetry Revival. Life Travers Rafe Lee Harwood was born in Leicester to maths teacher Wilfred Travers Lee-Harwood and Grace Ladkin Harwood, who were then living in Chertsey, Surrey. His father was an army reservist and called up as war started; after the evacuation from Dunkirk he was posted to Africa until 1947 and saw little of his son. Between 1958–61 Harwood studied English at Queen Mary College, University of London and continued living in London until 1967. During that time he worked as a monumental mason's mate, a librarian and a bookshop assistant. He was also a member of the Beat scene and in 1963 was involved in editing the one issue magazines ''Night Scene'' and ''Night Train'' featuring their work, as did ''Soho'' and ''Horde'' the following year.
