Ian Quick
Ian William Quick (born 5 November 1933) is a former Australian cricketer who played for Victoria in first-class cricket from 1957 to 1961. Though Quick by name, he was an orthodox slow left-arm bowler. Quick was the leading wicket-taker in the 1957-58 Sheffield Shield competition, with 32 wickets at an average of 27.84. He also had the best bowling figures of the season, 7 for 47 against Western Australia in the final match. Although Quick never played in a Test match, he did tour New Zealand in 1960 and England in 1961 with Australian teams. He played in all four representative matches against New Zealand, taking 14 wickets at an average of 24.21. He also took his best first-class figures in New Zealand: 7 for 20 and 5 for 78 in the opening match of the tour against Auckland, which the Australians won by an innings. The 1961 Australian cricket tour of England began with a three-day match versus Worcestershire at the County Ground, New Road, Worcester on Saturday 29 April, play continuing on Monday 1 May and Tuesday 2 May. This match was rain-affected and ended in a draw. The tour ended at Trinity College Park, Dublin on 19 September when the Australians completed a 282 run victory in a two-day match versus Ireland. In the first innings of the tour match against Cambridge University in mid-May, the Australians scored 449-3d - still the lowest first-class innings to feature four individual centuries. Below is a chronological list of cricketers to have represented Victoria at first-class level. Gideon Clifford Jeffrey Davidson Haigh (born 29 December 1965) is an English-born Australian journalist and non-fiction author who writes about sport (especially cricket), business and crime in Australia. He was born in London, was raised in Geelong, and lives in Melbourne. Career Haigh began his career as a journalist, writing on business for ''The Age'' newspaper from 1984 to 1992 and for ''The Australian'' from 1993 to 1995. He has since contributed to over 70 newspapers and magazines, both on business topics and on sport, mostly cricket. He wrote regularly for ''The Guardian'' during the 2006–07 Ashes series and has featured also in ''The Times'' and the ''Financial Times''. He is the senior cricket writer for ''The Australian''. Richie Benaud
Richard Benaud (; 6 October 1930 – 10 April 2015) was an Australian cricketer who, after his retirement from international cricket in 1964, became a highly regarded commentator on the game. Benaud was a Test cricket all-rounder, blending leg spin bowling with lower-order batting aggression. Along with fellow bowling all-rounder Alan Davidson, he helped restore Australia to the top of world cricket in the late 1950s and early 1960s after a slump in the early 1950s. In 1958 he became Australia's Test captain until his retirement in 1964. He became the first player to reach 200 wickets and 2,000 runs in Test cricket, arriving at that milestone in 1963. Gideon Haigh described him as "perhaps the most influential cricketer and cricket personality since the Second World War." Auckland Cricket Team
The Auckland cricket team represent the Auckland region and are one of six New Zealand domestic first class cricket teams. Governed by the Auckland Cricket Association they are the most successful side having won 28 Plunket Shield titles, ten wins in The Ford Trophy and the Super Smash four times. The side currently play their home games at Eden Park Outer Oval. The limited overs side, known as the Auckland Aces, have a predominantly light blue kit with a navy and white trim. Their One Day Championship shirt sponsors are Ford whilst their major T20 sponsor is Mondiale.
