Ian Parker (born 26 November 1953) is a Scottish keyboardist, vocalist, composer, DJ and producer. Ian has played keyboards with The Hollies since 1991 and with Clannad from 1988 to 2016, extensively touring the world and recording with both bands. He has also played with Elkie Brooks, Joan Armatrading, Killing Joke, Tom Robinson Band, Three Degrees, Moya Brennan, Samantha Fox, Mud, Peter Gabriel, Elton John, Phil Collins, Killer B's, Gloria Gaynor, Katrina and the Waves, Chuck Berry, the Nolans, Wall Street Crash, and the Platters, and has been Musical Director for the Drifters, Del Shannon, Percy Sledge and the Chi-Lites. Early life Ian Parker was born on 26 November 1953 in the coastal town of Irvine, Ayrshire to David and Anne Parker. Ian Parker (born January 11, 1978) is a Canadian classical pianist. Biography Ian Parker was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, the son of Eileen Parker and Edward Parker. His cousins James Parker and Jon Kimura Parker are also pianists. His father, Edward, a highly respected piano teacher in Vancouver, taught all three pianists including Ian, beginning at the age of three. He later studied at The Juilliard School under Veda Kaplinsky, where he received a Bachelor and Master of Music degree, as well as an Artist Diploma. Ian James Parker (born 13 December 1976) is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist in the genre of blues music. Early life Born in Birmingham, England, Parker was brought up in nearby Stourbridge. He started playing the guitar as an eight year old and eight years later started a short-lived band called "Strange Brew" with two schoolfriends. After Strange Brew, he joined a blues band, "Blue Horizon". At the same time he was attending the University of Derby, graduating with a degree in psychology. Career Moving back to Stourbridge, Parker started a new band, "Monty Turnball" with Morg' Morgan on keyboards, and two other local musicians with Parker on lead vocals and Stratocaster electric guitar. Ian Parker (born 1956) is a British psychologist and psychoanalyst. He is Emeritus Professor of Management in the School of Business at the University of Leicester. Biography Parker went to Ravens Wood School in Keston, Bromley, UK, studied psychology at Plymouth Polytechnic and the University of Southampton, lectured at Manchester Polytechnic from 1985, was appointed Professor of Psychology at Bolton Institute in 1996, and returned to Manchester as Professor of Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2000. In 2012 he was suspended for questioning, in his capacity as departmental union representative for the University and College Union, work-load and appointment procedures.
