Ian Griffiths (footballer)
Ian James Griffiths (born 17 April 1960) is an English former footballer who played for Tranmere Rovers, Rochdale, Port Vale, Wigan Athletic, Mazda Hiroshima, and Wrexham. A winger, he scored 23 goals in 340 league and cup games in the English Football League between 1978 and 1992. He spent most of his career in the Third Division and Fourth Division, though he did manage to win a league title in Japan and also appeared in the 1991 Welsh Cup final. Career Griffiths began his career with John King's Tranmere Rovers, who were relegated out of the Third Division at the end of the 1978–79 season. Rovers finished 15th in the Fourth Division in 1979–80, before slipping into the re-election zone in 1980–81 under the stewardship of new manager Bryan Hamilton. They rose to 11th in 1981–82, but ended the 1982–83 season just one point and one place above the re-election zone. He scored five goals in 116 league games in his five-year stay at Prenton Park. Ian Ward Griffiths (born 1966) is a British businessman. He is a non-executive director of BBC Commercial and a Senior Adviser to Bain Capital. Between 2020 and 2022 he was the CFO and deputy CEO of Kantar Group, a global data analytics and brand consulting company. During this time, he led the restructuring of the business following its acquisition from WPP plc by Bain Capital. Early life Ian Ward Griffiths was born in September 1966. After being brought up and educated in North Wales, he gained a master's degree from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. He is a qualified accountant. Career Griffiths worked for the accountants Ernst & Young for six years, before joining the magazines, radio and business media group Emap (Now Ascential) in 1994, and was group finance director from 2005 to 2008. Iwan Griffiths
Iwan Griffiths is drummer for Welsh rock band The Automatic. Iwan originates from Cowbridge in Wales, and lives in Cardiff. He has a law degree from Cardiff University. Musical career Along with bandmates Rob and Frost he was in the lineup of the band's original format when they were known as ''White Rabbit'', later changing their name to The Automatic, an idea of Iwan's, and recruiting screaming synth player Alex Pennie, and later guitarist Paul Mullen. In an interview with Rhythm Magazine, Iwan explained that one of his influences at the time was Dominic Howard from the band Muse. Other influences on his drumming include John Bonham, Phil Collins, Stewart Copeland, and Bill Bruford. Iwan has used a combination of acoustic and electric drums in both studios and live performances.
