Ian Gregson (poet)
Ian Gregson (born 1953) is an English novelist and poet. His debut poetry collection ''Call Centre Love Song'' was shortlisted for a Forward Prize in 2006. In 2015, he was put forward for the position of Professor of Poetry at Oxford University. Biography Born in Manchester in 1953, Ian Gregson was educated at Oxford University and completed a PhD at the University of Hull. In 1981, he was given an Eric Gregory Award by the Society of Authors. His debut poetry collection ''Call Centre Love Song'' was published by Salt in 2006, and was shortlisted for a Forward Prize for 'Best First Collection'. Gregson has lived most of his adult life in north Wales, where he was Professor of English literature and creative writing at Bangor University until taking early retirement in 2015. He has published a number of critical books, largely concerned with contemporary poetry, postmodernism and representations of masculinity. Carol Rumens
Carol Rumens FRSL (born 10 December 1944) is a British poet. Life Carol Rumens was born in Forest Hill, South London. She won a scholarship to grammar school and later studied Philosophy at London University, but left before completing her degree. She gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Writing for the Stage (with Distinction) from City College Manchester in 2002. She taught at University of Kent at Canterbury (1983–85), Queen's University Belfast (1991–93 and 1995–98), University College Cork (1994), University of Stockholm (1999), and University of Hull. As visiting Professor of Creative Writing, she has taught at the University of Wales, Bangor, and later at the University of Hull. Rumens was Poetry Editor for the publisher ''Quarto'' (1982–84) and the ''Literary Review'' (1984–88). Her work has appeared in ''The Guardian'' and '' Harper's''. Simon Armitage
Simon Robert Armitage (born 26 May 1963) is an English poet, playwright, musician and novelist. He was appointed Poet Laureate on 10 May 2019. He is professor of poetry at the University of Leeds. He has published over 20 collections of poetry, starting with '' Zoom!'' in 1989. Many of his poems concern his home town in West Yorkshire; these are collected in '' Magnetic Field: The Marsden Poems''.
