Ian Dalziel
Ian Martin Dalziel (pronounced "Dee-ell") (born 21 June 1947) is a British businessman and politician who served one term as a Conservative Member of the European Parliament from 1979 to 1984. Dalziel was educated at Daniel Stewart's College in Edinburgh, St John's College, Cambridge, studying as a postgraduate at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and London Business School. He worked for Mullens & Co from 1970, before moving to a management position at Manufacturers Hanover Ltd. In 1978 he was elected as a Conservative to Richmond-upon-Thames Council for Barnes ward. Barnes () is a district in south London, part of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, England. It takes up the extreme north-east of the borough, and as such is the closest part of the borough to central London. It is centred west south-west of Charing Cross in a bend of the River Thames.
