Iain McLean
Iain Donald Smith McLean (born 8 October 1983) is a Scottish international lawn bowler. Bowls career McLean won a bronze medal in the fours at the 2016 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Christchurch, with Alex Marshall, Paul Foster and Ronnie Duncan. In 2013, he won the Hong Kong International Bowls Classic pairs title with Robert Grant and he also won the gold medal at the 2015 World Cup Singles in Warilla, New South Wales, Australia and in 2014 he became the World Singles Champion of Champions defeating Fairus Jabal of Malaysia in the final. He is a two time winner of the Scottish National Bowls Championships in the singles (2013 and 2015) when bowling for Blackwood Victoria BC. In 2022, he competed in the men's singles and the men's triples at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Bowls
Bowls, also known as lawn bowls or lawn bowling, is a sport in which the objective is to roll biased balls so that they stop close to a smaller ball called a "jack" or "kitty". It is played on a bowling green, which may be flat (for "flat-green bowls") or convex or uneven (for "crown green bowls"). It is normally played outdoors (although there are many indoor venues) and the outdoor surface is either natural grass, artificial turf or cotula (in New Zealand). Ryan George Peter Bester (born 7 December 1984 in Hanover, Canada) is a Canadian lawn bowler. Bowls career World Outdoor Championships Bester won the gold medal in the pairs with Keith Roney at the 2004 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Ayr. After winning a bronze in the 2008 World Outdoor Bowls Championship he finished runner-up to Leif Selby in the 2012 World Outdoor Bowls Championship men's singles. Jason Banks (born 1996) is a Scottish international lawn and indoor bowler. Bowls career Banks reached the 2014 National Indoor Singles final and in 2019 won the National Under 25 Singles. In 2019 he won the Junior singles title at the IIBC Championships. In 2017, he won three medals at the European Bowls Championships. In 2020, he was selected for the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Australia as the men's team travelling reserve but the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, he won fours gold and pairs bronze at the European Bowls Championships.
