FFH (band)
FFH, also known as Far from Home, are an American contemporary Christian band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Formed in 1993, FFH released six independent projects before being signed by Essential Records. Since then, they have released seven studio albums, as well as a "greatest-hits" album. Background The group formed as Four for Harmony, an a cappella group. Over time they developed a vocal acoustic pop style, similar to that of Avalon, and changed their name to Far from Home. That name was being used by a secular duo and they became known as FFH. FFH sang on ''Shine Your Light'' with Nicole Nordeman and "Hide Me in Your Heart" on ''City On a Hill: Sing Alleluia'' (2002), and on "Table of the Lord" with Paul Coleman Trio on ''City On a Hill: The Gathering'' (2003), and "Where Are You" and "Merciful Rain" on ''City On a Hill: Songs of Worship and Praise'' (2000). Jimmie Lee Sloas is an American session musician, producer, and songwriter, who plays bass guitar. History Jimmie Lee Sloas, born in Ashland, Kentucky, grew up in Fairborn, Ohio and Isonville, Kentucky. His father, Dave, was a member of the popular bluegrass group, The Sloas Brothers. His older brother, David, served as Tammy Wynette's lead guitarist from the early 1980s until her death. The Bennett House
The Bennett House is a recording studio located on 4th Avenue North in Franklin, Tennessee. Built in 1875, the two-story building has served as a residence, a clothing store and, starting in 1980, a recording studio used by many popular music artists when recording in Tennessee. Artists that have frequently recorded at the studio include 1970's rock and roll producer Norbert Putnam (Kris Kristofferson, Dan Fogelberg, Jimmy Buffett, Dusty Springfield), country music producer Bob Montgomery (Joe Diffie, Waylon Jennings), producer Keith Thomas (Amy Grant, Vanessa Williams, Selena, 98 Degrees). Thomas would even have one of the two studios in the building named after him when "Studio A" became known as "The Thomas Room."
