Touch Me (Samantha Fox Album)
''Touch Me'' is the debut studio album by English singer Samantha Fox, released on 7 July 1986 by Jive Records. A successful topless model, Fox won a five-album contract with Jive after being invited to an open cattle call by the label, who were seeking "a British Madonna" to front the track "Touch Me (I Want Your Body)". That single reached number three on the UK Singles Chart and number four on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Following that success, the album was recorded quickly, with Fox spending a month recording "day and night" to meet deadlines. Fox pushed for a hard rock edge to the record, in accordance with her personal taste at the time. The album spawned three more commercially successful singles:, " Do Ya Do Ya (Wanna Please Me)", " Hold On Tight" and " I'm All You Need". The album has been certified silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) and gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Derek Ridgers was credited for the cover photogra ...

Number One (magazine)
''Number One'', initially rendered as 'No. 1', was a British magazine dealing with pop music. It ran for nine years and was aimed at a mainly teenage market. Overview The magazine was published weekly and ran from 7 May 1983 to February 1992. It was intended as direct competition to ''Smash Hits'', which was at its peak at the time.https://www.simplyeighties.com/number-one-magazine.php#.X85OiDEYB2Y Although ''No. 1'' contained fewer pages and less colour (at a similar price), the magazine claimed "our strength is our weekliness". One of the most popular aspects was that it published the singles and albums charts every week (obviously not possible for the fortnightly ''Smash Hits''). As the magazine was an IPC publication, it initially used the Top 75 singles & albums from its sister title, the NME (less a pop magazine more a 'rock-press inkie'). However, in 1985 it started publishing the MRIB (Media Research Information Bureau) Network Chart, as used for Independent Local Radi ...

The album charted at number 22 in the United Kingdom, number 51 in the United States, number 41 in Canada, number 86 in Australia and number 16 in Germany. After her debut studio album, '' Touch Me'' (1986), went gold, Fox returned to the studio to record her eponymous second album. Emerging British super producers Stock Aitken Waterman were enlisted to contribute one track, " Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now", after her label reportedly became concerned the album did not contain any obvious hits. However, US producers Full Force, who were helping Lisa Lisa at that time, also delivered a top 5 US hit for the album with "Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)". The album also spawned the singles "I Surrender (To the Spirit of the Night)", "I Promise You (Get Ready)", and "True Devotion "True Devotion" is a song by English singer Samantha Fox from her eponymous second stu ...
