I Moralens Navn
''I moralens navn'' (The Moral Reputation) is a Norwegian comedy film from 1954 directed by Olav Engebretsen. It stars Eva Lunde, Fridtjof Mjøen, and Anita Thallaug. The film is based on Finn Bø's play with the same name, which premiered at the National Theatre in Oslo on September 22, 1937 and was directed by Bø himself. It was later performed that same year at the Trøndelag Theater. Plot Mona and Egil have grown up with a jumble of parents and stepparents. Now they have a total of three pairs of parents. Mona gets pregnant, and all her parents want her to get married. During the engagement party, the parents cheat on each other one by one, which leads to Mona escaping with her fiancé. They decide not to get married. The parents travel to Copenhagen to look for the escaped young people. Olav Engebretsen
Olav Engebretsen, also Olaf Engebretsen (December 25, 1905 – March 30, 1988) was a Norwegian film editor and director. Engebretsen was primarily active as a film editor from 1941 to 1962. The films that he edited include '' Den forsvundne pølsemaker'' (1941), ''Jeg drepte!'', (1942), and '' Line'' (1961). He received the Norwegian Film Critics Award () in 1961 for his editing of ''Line''. In 1954 he directed the films '' Troll i ord'' and '' I moralens navn''. Engebretsen is buried in the Cemetery of Our Saviour in Oslo. Synnøve Gleditsch
Synnøve Gleditsch (née Synnøve Tanvik, June 16, 1908 – December 7, 1980) was a Norwegian actress. Life and work Synnøve Gleditsch was the daughter of the arsenal manager Nils Tanvik (1872–1969) and Kristine Eian (1875–1925). She debuted at the National Theater in 1928, where she was engaged until 1932. After this, Gleditsch was engaged at the Søilen Theater from 1934 to 1935, the Trøndelag Theater from 1937 to 1942, and the Edderkoppen Theater from 1949 to 1953; during this time she also had guest performances at many other theaters. Gleditsch also worked as a cabaret and revue artist, including at Chat Noir. Anne-Lise Wang (March 2, 1920 – March 20, 1967) was a Norwegian actress. Career Wang performed at Chat Noir and the Oslo New Theater. She also appeared in seven feature films between 1942 and 1958. Personal life Wang was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. She was the daughter of Fritz Wang (1888–1952) and Hertha Olsen (1891–1959). Carl Struve
Carl Struve (April 12, 1887 – November 26, 1974) was a Norwegian actor and singer. He studied singing with Wilhelm Kloed and made his debut at the National Theater in Oslo in 1908. Struve was engaged with the theater until 1919, when he also made his US debut. He also performed at a number of theaters in Stockholm, Finland, and the UK from 1921 to 1928. Thorleif Reiss
Thorleif Dymling Reiss (May 22, 1898 – April 14, 1988) was a Norwegian actor. Career Reiss made his debut at the National Theater in Oslo in 1918. From 1931 to 1939, he was employed at the Carl Johan Theater, where he also served as co-director. From 1942 onward he was employed at the New Theater. Family Reiss was the son of the lawyer, composer, and musicologist Georg Reiss and Elisabeth Dymling (1861–1920). Lars Einar Nordrum (October 28, 1921 – January 25, 1973) was a Norwegian theater and film actor. He is especially remembered for acting the voice of Jennings ( no, Stompa) in a series of Norwegian radio plays in the 1950s and 1960s.
