I Love You (1981 Film)
''I Love You'' ( pt, Eu Te Amo) is a 1981 Brazilian drama film directed by Arnaldo Jabor. It was shot along the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, Lagoa, Rio de Janeiro. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1981 Cannes Film Festival. Plot Maria (Sônia Braga, Braga) and Paulo (Paulo César Pereio, Pereio) are a couple who use each other to satisfy their sexual desires and to avoid their loneliness. However, they are not at all in love. Over time as their relationship continues, Maria and Paulo begin to realize that they are in fact falling for each other. Arnaldo Jabor
Arnaldo Jabor (12 December 1940 – 15 February 2022) was a Brazilian film director and producer, screenwriter, writer, journalist and political pundit for Brazilian television network Rede Globo. Biography He was of jewish lebanese descent and identified as an atheist. Initially associated with the Cinema Novo movement with his first fiction feature ''Pindorama'' (1970), Jabor went on directing nine films between 1965 and 1990. His 1973 film ''All Nudity Shall Be Punished'' won the Silver Bear at the 23rd Berlin International Film Festival. In the 1980s, Jabor reached critical and commercial success with his erotically-charged psychological romantic dramas ''I Love You'' (1981) and '' Love Me Forever or Never'' (1986), with the latter gathering a Palm d'Or nomination at the 39th Cannes Film Festival. Tarcísio Meira
Tarcísio Pereira de Magalhães Sobrinho (5 October 1935 – 12 August 2021), known professionally as Tarcísio Meira, was a Brazilian actor. He was one of the first actors to work in the most popular Brazilian channel Globo. He was born in São Paulo and was the longtime owner of Fazenda São Marcos, a 5000 ha cattle ranch in the eastern Amazonian state of Pará. Fazenda São Marcos is located approximately 20 km east of Aurora do Pará, off the Belém-Brasília highway. The Gramado Film Festival ( pt, Festival de Gramado) is an international film festival held annually in the Brazilian city of Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul, since 1973. In 1992, the festival began to award Latin American films produced outside of Brazil. It is the biggest film festival in the country. Maria Sílvia Correa Moreira Menezes Aguiar (February 16, 1944 – July 26, 2009) was a Brazilian film, stage and television actress. Sílvia was already a well established film and theater actress by the time she made her television acting debut in the late 1970s. Her role in a telenovela came in 1977 on '' O Astro'' (''Star'') on Rede Globo. One of her most well known telenovela roles was on the Rede Globo show, ''Alma gêmea'' (''Soulmate''), in 2005 in which she played a traditional, elderly Brazilian indigenous woman. Silvia's other telenovela credits included ''Torre de Babel'' in 1998, ''Chocolate com pimenta'' in 2003, and ''Páginas da Vida'' in 2006. Sílvia appeared in a number of films throughout her career, some of which were directed by Walter Lima Jr, Ruy Guerra, Arnaldo Jabor and Paulo César Saraceni.
