IWK 250
The IWK 250 is a 250-lap late model stock car race held annually at the third-mile Riverside International Speedway in James River, Nova Scotia. In 2007 the annual 250 mile race at the track was repurposed to raise money and garner support for the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It has since become one of the premier Pro Stock races in North America, attracting national attention, as well as some of the sports top drivers, including NASCAR Champions Brad Keselowski and Matt Crafton, V8 Supercars Champion Marcos Ambrose, and Daytona 500 winner Joey Logano. Prior to the 2015 IWK 250 the event has raised over $250,000 for the IWK. Austin L. Theriault (born January 23, 1994) is an American professional stock car racing driver and politician, who currently works in driver development. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 52 for Rick Ware Racing, and part-time in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, driving the No. 92 Ford F-150 for RBR Enterprises. He won the ARCA Racing Series championship in 2017, driving for Ken Schrader Racing. He is the representative-elect of the 1st district of the Maine House of Representatives. Scott Andrew Fraser (October 20, 1970March 20, 2004) was a Canadian professional racing car driver from Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia. Fraser was considered by many to be one of the best stock car racers in Canada. Racing career Early career Fraser made his racing debut in the street stock division at Onslow Speedway in Truro, Nova Scotia at the age of 16, setting the record for wins in a season. He ran off and on at Onslow for the next four seasons. In 1992 he moved on to the Open-Wheel Modified division at Scotia Speedworld in Enfield, Nova Scotia. In his rookie season he won the series championship. Between 1993 and 1994 Fraser ran three American Canadian Tour races, scoring top fives in all three races, including a win at Scotia Speedworld. Donald Chisholm (born April 14, 1976 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian professional racing driver. Brad Keselowski Racing was an American professional stock car racing team that competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Started in 2007, it was owned and operated by NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series champion Brad Keselowski. The team most recently fielded the Nos. 19 and 29 Ford F-150s for Austin Cindric and Chase Briscoe. On August 17, 2017, BKR announced that they would suspend operations after the 2017 season. Aric Michael Almirola (born March 14, 1984) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 10 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing. A graduate of Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Almirola attended the University of Central Florida to work on a degree in mechanical engineering before leaving to pursue a career in racing. Dale Earnhardt, Inc. (DEI) was a race team founded by Dale Earnhardt and his wife, Teresa Earnhardt, to compete in the NASCAR series, the highest level of competition for professional stock car racing in the United States. From 1998 to 2009, the company operated as a NASCAR-related organization in Mooresville, North Carolina, United States. Earnhardt was a seven-time Winston Cup champion. The Maritime Pro Stock Tour (Commonly known as the Parts For Trucks Pro Stock Tour due to a sponsorship deal with Parts for Trucks) is an annual racing tour located in the Maritime provinces of Canada. History The Maritime Pro Stock Tour was founded in 2001 to provide a short track racing in the Maritime provinces and is the successor to the MASCAR Tour. It is now known as the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and was previously known as the Carquest Pro Stock Tour from 2001-2010. Richard Allen Craven (born May 24, 1966) is an American stock car racing analyst and former driver. Prior to his broadcasting duties, he was a NASCAR driver who won in four different series—the K&N Pro Series, and the three national series. He occasionally served as a pit reporter when NASCAR aired on TBS in the mid-1990s. Craven is perhaps most well known for winning the 2003 Carolina Dodge Dealers 400, beating Kurt Busch in the closest finish in Cup Series history.
