ISO 19092-2
ISO 19092 Financial Services - Biometrics - Part 2: Message syntax and cryptographic requirements is an ISO standard that describes the techniques, protocols, cryptographic requirements, and syntax for using biometrics Biometrics are body measurements and calculations related to human characteristics. Biometric authentication (or realistic authentication) is used in computer science as a form of identification and access control. It is also used to identify i ... as an identification and verification mechanism in a wide variety of security applications in the financial industry. This standard provides support for policy based matching decisions for remote authentication and allows biometrics to be used securely with the ISO 8583 retail transaction messaging standard. A secure review and audit event journal syntax is provided that allows many of the security controls specified in ISO 19092-1 to be implemented. Cryptography standards #19092-2 {{Standard-stub ...

ISO Standard
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO ) is an international standard development organization composed of representatives from the national standards organizations of member countries. Membership requirements are given in Article 3 of the ISO Statutes. ISO was founded on 23 February 1947, and (as of November 2022) it has published over 24,500 international standards covering almost all aspects of technology and manufacturing. It has 809 Technical committees and sub committees to take care of standards development. The organization develops and publishes standardization in all technical and nontechnical fields other than electrical and electronic engineering, which is handled by the IEC.Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica. 3 June 2021.International Organization for Standardization" ''Encyclopedia Britannica''. Retrieved 2022-04-26. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and works in 167 countries . The three official languages of the ISO are English, Frenc ...

Biometrics
Biometrics are body measurements and calculations related to human characteristics. Biometric authentication (or realistic authentication) is used in computer science as a form of identification and access control. It is also used to identify individuals in groups that are under surveillance. Biometric identifiers are the distinctive, measurable characteristics used to label and describe individuals. Biometric identifiers are often categorized as physiological characteristics which are related to the shape of the body. Examples include, but are not limited to fingerprint, palm veins, face recognition, DNA, palm print, hand geometry, iris recognition, retina, odor/scent, voice, shape of ears and gait. Behavioral characteristics are related to the pattern of behavior of a person, including but not limited to mouse movement, typing rhythm, gait, signature, behavioral profiling, and credentials. Some researchers have coined the term behaviometrics to describe the latter class ...

Financial
Finance is the study and discipline of money, currency and capital assets. It is related to, but not synonymous with economics, the study of production, distribution, and consumption of money, assets, goods and services (the discipline of financial economics bridges the two). Finance activities take place in financial systems at various scopes, thus the field can be roughly divided into personal, corporate, and public finance. In a financial system, assets are bought, sold, or traded as financial instruments, such as currencies, loans, bonds, shares, stocks, options, futures, etc. Assets can also be banked, invested, and insured to maximize value and minimize loss. In practice, risks are always present in any financial action and entities. A broad range of subfields within finance exist due to its wide scope. Asset, money, risk and investment management aim to maximize value and minimize volatility. Financial analysis is viability, stability, and profitability asse ...

ISO 8583
ISO 8583 is an international standard for ''financial transaction card originated'' interchange messaging. It is the International Organization for Standardization standard for systems that exchange electronic transactions initiated by cardholders using payment cards. ISO 8583 defines a message format and a communication flow so that different systems can exchange these transaction requests and responses. The vast majority of transactions made when a customer uses a card to make a payment in a store (EFTPOS) use ISO 8583 at some point in the communication chain, as do transactions made at ATMs. In particular, the Mastercard, Visa Inc., Visa and Verve International, Verve networks base their authorization communications on the ISO 8583 standard, as do many other institutions and networks. Although ISO 8583 defines a common standard, it is not typically used directly by systems or networks. It defines many standard fields (data elements) which remain the same in all systems or ne ...

Biometric authentication (or realistic authentication) is used in computer science as a form of identification and access control. It is also used to identify i ... as an authentication mechanism for secure remote electronic access or local physical access controls for the financial and other critical infrastructure industries. The standard also provides a useful tutorial on biometric systems and technology, describes the physical security requirements of biometric devices, the minimal content for Biometric Policy (BP) and Biometric Practice Statements (BPS), and secure event journal content for review and audit of biometric systems. It is followed by ISO 19092 Financial Services - B ...

Cryptography Standards
There are a number of standards related to cryptography. Standard algorithms and protocols provide a focus for study; standards for popular applications attract a large amount of cryptanalysis. Encryption standards * Data Encryption Standard (DES, now obsolete) * Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) * RSA the original public key algorithm * OpenPGP Hash standards * MD5 128-bit (obsolete) * SHA-1 160-bit (obsolete) * SHA-2 available in 224, 256, 384, and 512-bit variants * HMAC keyed hash * PBKDF2 Key derivation function (RFC 2898) Digital signature standards * Digital Signature Standard (DSS), based on the Digital Signature Algorithm (DSA) * RSA * Elliptic Curve DSA Public-key infrastructure (PKI) standards * X.509 Public Key Certificates Wireless Standards * Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), severely flawed and superseded by WPA * Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) better than WEP, a 'pre-standard' partial version of 802.11i * 802.11i a.k.a. WPA2, uses AES and other improvements ...
