INS Dwarka
INS Dwarka is a Forward operating base, Forward Operating Base (FOB) of the Indian Navy and is located at Okha, India, Okha, Gujarat. History INS Dwarka has historical significance as it is the only Indian Navy establishment to have ever seen direct action with the adversary. Its origin can be traced back to the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, 1965 hostilities with Pakistan. On 7 Sep 1965, a flotilla of the Pakistan Navy, carried out bombardment on Dwarka, Dwarka town with the objective of disabling the radar station there. Although the limited engagement caused insignificant damage of no strategic value, the Indian Navy realized the inevitable requirement to establish a forward outpost nearer to Pakistan. As a result, a small forward outpost was created in Feb 1966 at Okha Port, Port Okha under Naval Officer-in-Charge (Kathiawar). Okha, Gujarat
Okha is a coastal town in Devbhoomi Dwarka district of Gujarat state in India. It has a sea port. Dwarka situated some 30 km south and Bet Dwarka island situated 2.9 km across a small creek from Okha port are a major Hindu pilgrimage sites due to a temple dedicated to Krishna. Gujarat Marine Police
Gujarat Marine Police was set up for peacetime patrol of the state's coastline including coastal area and inshore sea due to the proximity to the Pakistan border as well as the presence of important structures like petroleum refinery. It has been envisaged as the first line of defence along Gujarat's coastline to patrol a radius of 10 km from the shore. Thereafter, the Indian Coast Guard is responsible for the area, with the Indian Navy guarding the area beyond that. Currently, this area is secured by the Indian Coast Guard. List Of Indian Air Force Stations
The Indian Air Force currently operates seven Air Commands. Each command is headed by an Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the rank of Air Marshal. The Air Force currently has over 60 air stations all over India. Strategic Forces Command
The Strategic Forces Command (SFC), sometimes called Strategic Nuclear Command, forms part of India's Nuclear Command Authority (NCA). It is responsible for the management and administration of the country's tactical and strategic nuclear weapons stockpile. It was created on 4 January 2003 by the Vajpayee Government. Air Marshal Teja Mohan Asthana became its first commander-in-chief. The Nuclear Command Authority (NCA) of India is the authority responsible for command, control and operational decisions regarding India's nuclear weapons programme. Integrated Space Cell
The Integrated Space Cell was the nodal agency within the Government of India which oversees the security of its space based military and civilian hardware systems. It was to be jointly operated by all the three services of the Indian Armed Forces, the civilian Defence Research and Development Organisation and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). This agency was Superseded by Defence Space Agency. The Integrated Defence Staff (IDS) is an organisation responsible for fostering coordination and enabling prioritisation across the different branches of the Indian Armed Forces.
