Intuitive Machines IM-1
''Nova-C'' is a lunar lander designed by the private company Intuitive Machines to deliver small commercial payloads to the surface of the Moon. Intuitive Machines was one of nine contractor companies selected by NASA in November 2018 to submit bids for the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program. ''Nova-C'' is one of the lunar landers that will be built and launched under that program. Other selected landers included the ''Peregrine'' by Astrobotic and (at a later time) ''Xelene'' by Masten Space Systems (Masten Space Systems suffered a bankruptcy in 2022, leaving their lunar lander plans in a state of confusion). The first ''Nova-C'' lander is manifested on the IM-1 mission in March 2023, with a second lander on the IM-2 mission later in the same year. The IM-3 mission is scheduled to launch in early 2024. All three landers will launch on SpaceX's Falcon 9 launch vehicle. Overview The ''Nova-C'' lunar lander was designed by Intuitive Machines, and it in ...

Interstellar Meteor IM1
CNEOS 2014-01-08 is an interstellar object reported in June 2019 by astronomers Amir Siraj and Abraham Loeb, and confirmed by the United States Space Command in April 2022. The discovery was publicized in 2019 in a preprint announcing a meteor detected on 8 January 2014 near the northeast coast of Papua New Guinea. Discovery and confirmation According to the researchers, the meteor originated from an unbound hyperbolic orbit with a confidence of 99.999%. The interstellar candidate was found in data from the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies. The estimated speed of the meteor, around , was likely produced in the innermost cores of another stellar system. A 2019 study by Jorge I. Zuluaga published as a research note by the American Astronomical Society concluded that even if the direction were completely unknown, the probability that CNEOS 2014-01-08 was hyperbolic would still be 48%. Confirmation was originally stymied by the problem that crucial information quant ...

British Rowing, formerly the Amateur Rowing Association (ARA), is the national governing body for the sport of rowing (both indoor and on-water rowing). It is responsible for the training and selection of individual rowers and crews representing Great Britain and England, and for participation in and the development of rowing in England.
