IL Kvernbit
I.L Kvernbit is a Norwegian football club, from the rural village Frekhaug in Hordaland. The team resides at the fifth level of the Norwegian league system, despite numerous attempts at promotion. Although Kvernbit is from Frekhaug, many of its most prominent players, come from the smaller island Flatøy. Perhaps the greatest player to ever wear the Kvernbit jersey, is the Stanghelle-born Trond Egil Soltvedt, who made a surprising move from Sheffield Wednesday, to Frekhaug and Kvernbit. He then managed to save the club from being relegated to the sixth Division. The name Kvernbit means stonecutter, and is named after the sword of Haakon the good. Frekhaug is a village in Alver Municipality, located in Vestland county, Norway. The village sits at the southern tip of the island of Holsnøy. Flatøy
Flatøy is an island in Alver Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies in the district of Nordhordland, just north of the city of Bergen. The main village on the island is Krossneset on the southern part of the island. The northern part of the island, on the southwest shore of Kvernafjord, is very sparsely inhabited. Historically, the island was one of the two main islands of the old Meland Municipality. The island is strategically located at a major transportation crossroads. It lies between the Salhus neighborhood in the city of Bergen (to the south), the island of Holsnøy (to the west), and the village of Knarvik to the east. Trond Egil Soltvedt (born 15 February 1967) is a Norwegian former footballer who played as a midfielder. After playing for Viking, Brann and Rosenborg in Norway, he played in England with Coventry, Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday before he retired. Soltvedt was capped four times playing for Norway. Playing career Norway Soltvedt started his professional career at Viking in Stavanger in 1987 and was a member of the team who won the Norwegian Cup in 1989 and the Tippeligaen in its inaugural year, 1991. Trond Mohn (born 3 April 1943) is a Norwegian billionaire businessman and philanthropist. He is the owner and chief executive officer (CEO) of the family-owned company Frank Mohn AS. Early life Trond Mohn is the son of Frank Mohn (1916–2002) and Eva Wigum (1920–1982). Mohn earned a degree in economics at the University of Mannheim, Germany in 1970. Career He returned to Bergen to work for the family company, and became CEO in January 1986. He is the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Korea in Norway.
