IK Våg
Idrettsklubben Våg is a Norwegian sports club from Vågsbygd in Kristiansand. It has sections for association football, team handball, badminton and athletics. The club was founded on 12 January 1938, and the club colors are green and white. The women's handball team played until January 2025 in the highest Norwegian league where they had to withdraw due bankruptcy. The club had also won several EHF Champions League, champions leagues. The twin sisters and international handballstars Kristine Lunde-Borgersen and Katrine Lunde Haraldsen, Katrine Lunde originally played for "Våg Vipers". The club later changed its name to "Vipers Kristiansand", and which the club was called until its dissolution. The Norwegian heptathlete Ida Marcussen represents IK Våg, after changing in 2005 after a disagreement with her club Kristiansands IF. Norwegian Third Division
The Norwegian Third Division, also called Norsk Tipping-Ligaen, is the fourth highest division of the men's football league in Norway. Like the rest of the Norwegian football league system, the season runs from spring to autumn, running approximately from April to October. After the 2010 season, the league was reorganised, reducing the number of teams to 164 and halving the number of parallel sections from 24 to 12. After the 2016 season, the league was again reorganised, reducing the number of teams from 164 to 84, and halved the number of groups from twelve to six. All six group winners promote to 2. divisjon, while the bottom four in all groups are relegated to 4. divisjon. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. Ida Marcussen
Ida Marcussen (born 1 November 1987 in Kristiansand) is a Norwegian heptathlete. She represents IK Våg, having changed clubs from Kristiansands IF in 2006. As a junior athlete she finished sixth at the 2005 European Junior Championships and won a silver medal at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Beijing. Her score of 6020 points from Beijing was only 65 points away from being a new Norwegian record. In 2007 she entered her first senior championships at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka. After day one she was situated near the bottom of the results list; however, a strong performance during the second day saw her climb to eleventh place. She scored 6226 points, demolishing the Norwegian record in the event. In 2008 she opened the season by setting a Norwegian indoor record in the pentathlon, with 4214 points. Vipers Kristiansand was a professional handball club from Kristiansand, Norway. The team competed in REMA 1000-ligaen, the top division in the country, since its promotion in 2001. They claimed their first Norwegian championship in 2018, ending an 18 times streak for the champions from Larvik HK.
