IKEA Museum
The IKEA Museum is a museum located in Älmhult, Sweden, that opened to the public on June 30, 2016. It replaced IKEA Through the Ages (located in the Corporate Culture Center 'Tillsammans'), a smaller 800 m2 exhibition that showed 20 different room settings with IKEA furniture and objects. The IKEA Museum is in the same building where the first IKEA store opened in 1958. The store moved to a new location in Älmhult in 2012. Älmhult
Älmhult () is a locality and the seat of Älmhult Municipality in Kronoberg County, Sweden with 8,955 inhabitants in 2010. It was in Älmhult that the first IKEA (the Swedish furniture company) store was built. IKEA continues to have a large corporate presence there. A museum of IKEA's history, the IKEA Museum, opened in the town on 30 June 2016. It was constructed to present the history of IKEA.
