II (Last In Line Album)
''II'' is the second album by American rock supergroup Last in Line. It was released in Japan on February 20, 2019, and the international release on February 22, 2019, and produced by Jeff Pilson with the band. The first single, "Landslide" was released on November 28, 2018. For this album, bass player Phil Soussan (ex-Ozzy Osbourne) replaced Jimmy Bain after his death at the age of 68 on January 23, 2016. Last in Line is a British rock band formed in 2012 by former members of Dio (band), Dio's original lineup. Their name comes from the 1984 Dio album, ''The Last in Line''. Following the death of frontman Ronnie James Dio in 2010, drummer Vinny Appice, bassist Jimmy Bain, guitarist Vivian Campbell and keyboardist Claude Schnell reunited and added vocalist Andrew Freeman (musician), Andrew Freeman to perform the Dio songs they originally recorded. They released three studio albums of original material without Schnell (two without Bain) between February 2016 and March 2023. Jeffrey Steven Pilson (born January 19, 1958) is an American musician best known for being the bass player in the glam metal band Dokken and currently classic rock band Foreigner (band), Foreigner. He has also had an extended stint with Dio (band), Dio in the 1990s. Biography Pilson was born on 19 January 1958 in Lake Forest, Illinois. Has an Irish descent. Philip Raphael Soussan (born 23 June 1961) is an English bass guitarist, songwriter and producer, known as a member of the rock bands Last in Line, Ozzy Osbourne, Vince Neil Band and Big Noize, as well as writing and producing for Dokken and Toto (band), Toto. Career With Ozzy Osbourne, Soussan played on the 1986 album ''The Ultimate Sin'' and co-wrote the hit single "Shot in the Dark (Ozzy Osbourne song), Shot in the Dark". James Stewart Bain (19 December 1947 – 23 January 2016) was a Scottish musician, best known for playing bass guitar in the bands Rainbow and Dio. He also worked with Kate Bush and Thin Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott, co-writing on his solo albums. Early life Bain was born in Newtonmore, Badenoch and Strathspey, Highland, and played in several provincial amateur bands as a young teen. His parents and older brothers relocated to Vancouver. Vivian Campbell
Vivian Patrick Campbell (born 25 August 1962) is a Northern Irish musician. He came to prominence in the early 1980s as the guitarist of Dio. He has also been the guitarist of Def Leppard since 1992 (replacing Steve Clark after his death). Campbell has also worked with Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Sweet Savage, Trinity, Riverdogs and Shadow King. Vincent Samson Appice (born September 13, 1957) is an American rock and metal drummer best known for his work with the bands Dio (band), Dio, Black Sabbath, and Heaven & Hell (band), Heaven & Hell. Of Italian descent, he is the younger brother of drummer Carmine Appice. Career Pre-Black Sabbath Appice took up the drums at the age of nine, taking lessons from the same teacher as his brother Carmine Appice. When he was sixteen, Appice and his band BOMF met John Lennon at Record Plant Studios. Lennon took a liking to the group and used them as a backing band in several performances, including the final one before his death.
