IFVA
ifva is organised by Hong Kong Arts Centre. Since its establishment in 1995, it has been serving as a platform that promotes and encourages creative talents in Asia, making short films, videos, animation and interactive media. It organizes the "ifva Awards" and "ifva Festival" annually. The ifva Awards commends talented filmmakers in the field of short films, videos, animation and interactive media. It has five major categories, including 'Open', 'Youth', 'Animation', 'Media Art' and 'Asian New Force', where each category has three awards. The ifva Festival is held in March every year. Hong Kong Arts Centre
Hong Kong Arts Centre (HKAC; ) is a non-profit arts institution and art museum established in 1977. It promotes contemporary performing arts, visual arts, film and video arts. It also provides arts education. Its rival is the government-managed Hong Kong Museum of Art. These two museums are considered to be the top two art museums in Hong Kong that dictate the discourse of art in Hong Kong. Urban Council
The Urban Council (UrbCo) was a municipal council in Hong Kong responsible for municipal services on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon (including New Kowloon). These services were provided by the council's executive arm, the Urban Services Department. Later, the equivalent body for the New Territories was the Regional Council. The council was founded as the Sanitary Board in 1883. It was renamed the Urban Council when new legislation was passed in 1936 expanding its mandate. In 1973 the council was reorganised under non-government control and became financially autonomous. Ann Hui
Ann Hui On-wah, (; born 23 May 1947) is a film director, producer, screenwriter and actress from Hong Kong who is one of the most critically acclaimed filmmakers of the Hong Kong New Wave. She is known for her films about social issues in Hong Kong which include: literary adaptations, martial arts, semi-autobiographical works, women's issues, social phenomena, political changes, and thrillers. She served as the president of the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild from 2004 to 2006. Hui has won numerous awards. Allen Fong
Allen Fong Yuk-ping (方育平) (born July 10, 1947) is a film director and one of the leaders of the Hong Kong New Wave of the late 1970s and early 1980s. His cinematic style is highly influenced by Italian neorealism. He also usually uses personal or real-life stories as the basis for his films. Despite his limited number of productions, he is one of the directors to have won "Best Director" three times at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Hong Kong Film Archive
The Hong Kong Film Archive is a film archive collects, preserves, and screens Hong Kong films and other related materials. The archive was founded in 1993, when its Planning Office was opened by the Urban Council. It joined the International Federation of Film Archives in 1996. The archive has been under the management of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department since 2000. The film archive building in Sai Wan Ho regularly hosts exhibitions, screenings and seminars showcasing Hong Kong film. The archive edits the book series ''Hong Kong Filmography'' and ''Monographs of Hong Kong Film Veterans''.
