IFIL-Reghin RG-6
__NOTOC__ The IFIL-Reghin RG-6 was a light aircraft built in Romania in 1957 for aeroclub use.Taylor 1989, 577 It was designed by Vladimir Novichi at the request of the national sport flying association AVSAP, which specified the use of the Praga D engine, surplus stocks of which were available in Romania following production of the Zlín Z-22.Manolache 2004 Novichi's design was for a conventional, low-wing cantilever monoplane with fixed, tailwheel undercarriage. The pilot and instructor sat in tandem under a long canopy. A flat-four engine, also known as a horizontally opposed-four engine, is a four-cylinder piston engine with two banks of cylinders lying on opposite sides of a common crankshaft. The most common type of flat-four engine is the boxer-four engine, each pair of opposed pistons moves inwards and outwards at the same time. A boxer-four engine has perfect primary and secondary balance, however, the two cylinder heads means the design is more expensive to produce than an inline-four engine. Boxer-four engines have been used in cars since 1897, especially by Volkswagen and Subaru. They have also occasionally been used in motorcycles and frequently in aircraft.
