IFAF World Cup
The IFAF World Championship of American Football (also known as the IFAF World Cup) is an international American football, gridiron competition held every four years and contested by teams representing member nations. The competition is run by the International Federation of American Football (IFAF), the international governing body for the sport. Seventy-one nations have a national American football team. The most recent tournament, in 2015, featured seven teams. The defending champions are the United States national American football team, United States, who won the 2015 IFAF World Championship, 2015 championship after winning both the 2007 IFAF World Championship, 2007 and 2011 IFAF World Championship, 2011 editions. The U.S. team did not compete in the World Cup until 2007 and have won every tournament since. American Football
American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The offense, the team with possession of the oval-shaped football, attempts to advance down the field by running with the ball or passing it, while the defense, the team without possession of the ball, aims to stop the offense's advance and to take control of the ball for themselves. The offense must advance at least ten yards in four downs or plays; if they fail, they turn over the football to the defense, but if they succeed, they are given a new set of four downs to continue the drive. Points are scored primarily by advancing the ball into the opposing team's end zone for a touchdown or kicking the ball through the opponent's goalposts for a field goal. Anthony Dablé-Wolf (born Anthony Dablé; September 25, 1988) is a French professional American football wide receiver and coach. Nate Kmic
Nate Kmic (born June 22, 1987) is a former professional American football running back. He played college football at Mount Union College after graduating from Delta High School in rural Delta, Ohio In his college career, he set rushing records for both NCAA Division III as well as the NCAA all-division record. At Mount Union, Kmic won three NCAA Division III football championships and was a three-time All-American and three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference running back. Michael Faulds (born November 11, 1983) is a former Canadian football quarterback and the current head coach for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks football team. After serving three years as the offensive coordinator for the York Lions, he was hired as head coach for Wilfrid Laurier on January 8, 2013. The 2025 IFAF World Championship is the upcoming sixth instance of the IFAF World Championship for American football. In December 2018, the IFAF announced that the games, which were originally scheduled to be held in Wollongong, Australia, from 29 July 2019 to 5 August 2019, would be postponed to 2023 citing the large number of withdrawals from top nations. Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament.
