IDEAS Foundation For Progress
The Ideas Foundation for Progress ( es, Fundación Ideas para el Progreso), also known as the Fundación IDEAS (IDEAS Foundation), was a Spanish think tank that works on political ideas and proposals for the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). In this regard, it integrates the foundations previously created and tied to the PSOE. "IDEAS" is an acronym which stands for "Igualdad, Derecho, Ecología, Acción y Solidaridad" (Equality, Rights, Ecology, Action and Solidarity), concepts of reference to the social democratic ideology of this think tank. Spanish President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero presides over the Foundation as its honorary President although the highest authority in the foundation is its Executive Vice President Jesús Caldera. Pedro Zerolo
Pedro González Zerolo (20 July 1960, Caracas – 9 June 2015, Madrid) was a Spain, Spanish-Venezuela, Venezuelan lawyer, politician and a town councillor of the city of Madrid, and a member of the Federal Executive Committee of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, PSOE where he held the position of Secretary for Social Movements and Relations with NGOs. He was also a trustee of the Fundacion IDEAS, Spain's Socialist Party's think tank. Zerolo was also one of the most important LGBT social movements, LGBT activists in Spanish history and one of the biggest promoters of extending the right to Same-sex marriage in Spain, marriage and LGBT adoption, adoption to homosexual couples in the country. Vandana Shiva
Vandana Shiva (born 5 November 1952) is an Indian scholar, environmental activist, food sovereignty advocate, ecofeminist and anti-globalisation author. Based in Delhi, Shiva has written more than 20 books. She is often referred to as "Gandhi of grain" for her activism associated with the anti-GMO movement. Shiva is one of the leaders and board members of the International Forum on Globalization (with Jerry Mander, Ralph Nader, and Helena Norberg-Hodge), and a figure of the anti-globalisation movement. Nicholas Herbert Stern, Baron Stern of Brentford, (born 22 April 1946 in Hammersmith) is a British economist, banker, and academic. He is the IG Patel Professor of Economics and Government and Chair of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics (LSE), and 2010 Professor of Collège de France. Joseph Eugene Stiglitz (; born February 9, 1943) is an American New Keynesian economist, a public policy analyst, and a full professor at Columbia University. George Philip Lakoff (; born May 24, 1941) is an American cognitive linguistics, cognitive linguist and philosopher, best known for his thesis that people's lives are significantly influenced by the conceptual metaphors they use to explain complex phenomena.
