Crans-Montana is a municipality in the district of Sierre in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. Gülsin Onay (born 12 September 1954) is a leading Turkish concert pianist of German descent, based in Cambridge, England. Education Born into a musical family, Gülsin Onay began to play the piano at the age of three. Her first teacher was her mother. When she was 6 years old, Gülsin Onay gave her first concert on TRT Radio Istanbul. At the age of 10, she received a special government scholarship under the ''Üstün Yetenekli Çocuklar Kanunu'' (Law for Exceptionally Talented Children), which enabled her to study first in Ankara with Mithat Fenmen and Ahmed Adnan Saygun, and two years later at the Paris Conservatory, where her teachers were Pierre Sancan, Monique Haas, Pierre Fiquet and Nadia Boulanger. Oxana Yablonskaya
Oxana Yablonskaya (russian: Оксана Михайловна Яблонская; born December 6, 1938, Moscow) is a Russian pianist who has had an active international performance career since the early 1960s. She began her career in the USSR and, although winning several important competitions in the West, was denied permission by the Soviet government to accept any performance engagements outside of the Soviet bloc. Frustrated by her career limitations, she emigrated to the United States in 1977. György Pauk
György Pauk (born 26 October 1936) is a Hungarian violinist, chamber musician and music pedagogue. Biography Pauk was born in Budapest, (Hungary), and entered the Franz Liszt Academy of Music at age nine. He began his studies as Imre Waldbauer's pupil in 1945. From 1947-1949 he studied with János Temesváry, and from 1949 till he graduated at the Academy with Ede Zathureczky, and he studied under Zoltán Kodály. Evangeline Benedetti
Evangeline Benedetti (b. February 22, 1941) is an American cellist who was first woman cello player to play in the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Education and training Benedetti was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She was interested in playing in the band as a child and started playing on the French horn and the bassoon. She was also able to take free cello lessons at the University of Texas String Project, and her childhood teachers were Walter Coleman and Phyllis Young. After a year at University of Texas under the tutelage of Horace Britt, she received a full scholarship to study with Bernard Greenhouse at the Manhattan School of Music where she earned her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees.
