ICNG
The Intercity Nieuwe Generatie (''Intercity New Generation''), or ICNG is an electric multiple unit trainset of the Dutch Railways. In addition to supplementing the existing intercity rolling stock, it will replace the Bombardier TRAXX locomotives and coaches on the high-speed line between Amsterdam and Belgium. This will provide the connection that was originally planned to be provided by the Fyra service, which was cancelled in 2013. The process to acquire the trains began in 2014, eventually resulting in trains built by Alstom based on their Coradia Stream platform. The trains arrived in the Netherlands starting in 2020, and after a period of testing, entered passenger service in April 2023. DB Class V 100
These DB Class V 100 diesel locomotives were produced in the late 1950s by the Deutsche Bundesbahn for non-electrified branch lines as a replacement for steam locomotives. The V 100 class was built in three different variants. Decommissioned locomotives were also used in Austria by the Austrian Federal Railways during the 1990s and early 2000s, where they were registered as ÖBB Class 2048 Class V 100.10 / Class 211 The Class V 100.10 was a diesel locomotive for light passenger and goods traffic on branch lines. Rübeland Railway
The Rübeland Railway (german: Rübelandbahn) is a railway link from Blankenburg via Rübeland and Königshütte to Tanne in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. It was built by the Halberstadt-Blankenburg railway (HBE) between 1880 and 1886. The route length is 30.6 kilometres, the height difference over 300 metres. The seven kilometre long section from Königshütte to Tanne was closed in 1968 and the five kilometres from Elbingerode to Königshütte followed suit on 30 August 2000, the last train to Königshütte having run in 1999. The name Rübeland Railway was first used when the railway was nationalised. Previously it had been known as the Harz Railway (''Harzbahn''). Blankenburg (Harz) Station
Blankenburg (Harz) station is the most important station in Blankenburg in the Saxony-Anhalt district of Harz in central Germany. Location The station lies in the north of the town. Whilst this simplified its accessibility from Halberstadt to the north, it made a railway route into the Harz Mountains very costly. History Blankenburg station was opened on 31 March 1873 by the Halberstadt-Blankenburg Railway Company (''Halberstadt-Blankenburger Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft'' or HBE). In its early years trains only ran to the station from Halberstadt. The main purpose of the line was to provide a connexion for the Blankenburg smelting works to the railway network. On 3 July 1875 a 3.5 kilometre long line from Blankenburg station to the smelting works in the west of the town was completed.
