ICL 20s Grand Championship 2007–08
The ICL 20s Grand Championship 2007/08 was a challenge tournament in the first season of the ICL that was made primarily to introduce the all-Pakistan team the Lahore Badshahs and to have them play against the other ICL teams. The tournament commenced on 9 March 2008 and the final match was held on 6 April 2008. The league consisted of eight teams with each team playing each other once. The tournament sponsor was Edelweiss. Tournament results The Hyderabad Heroes won the Edelweiss 20's Challenge defeating the Lahore Badshahs 2-0 in the best of three final. Indian Cricket League
The Indian Cricket League (ICL) was a private cricket league funded by Zee Entertainment Enterprises that operated between 2007 and 2009 in India. Its two seasons included tournaments between four international teams (World XI, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) and separate tournaments between nine domestic teams notionally located in major Indian cities as well as Lahore, Pakistan and Dhaka, Bangladesh. The matches were played in the Twenty20 format, and was the first domestic Twenty20 league in India. There was also a planned domestic 50-over tournament, but this did not happen. The ICL lacked the support of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and International Cricket Council, which placed it at a major disadvantage when compared to other cricket competitions. In 2008 the Board of Control for Cricket in India launched the their own Indian Premier League. ICL was an unsanctioned league. Azhar Mahmood
Azhar Mahmood ( pnb, اظہر محمود ساگر; born 28 February 1975) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer. He was the bowling coach of the Pakistani national cricket team until 2019. Previously, he played Tests and ODIs for Pakistan national cricket team and county cricket in England. Azhar is a dual British citizen. Personal life Azhar Mahmood's wedding ceremony was held in 2003; his wife is British Pakistani. Hasan Raza (cricketer, Born 1982)
Hasan Raza (Urdu: حسن رضا; born 11 March 1982) is a Pakistani former cricketer who played for the Pakistan national cricket team between 1996 and 2005. He initially was subject to something of a claim for an international cricketing record, as his debut performance was believed to have taken place at the age of 14 years and 233 days, then a world-record, sparking investigations over the legitimacy of his age claims. He was soon taken away from international play after struggling initially in the early 2000s, but was recalled against Australia and Zimbabwe in 2004. Hasan also captained the Pakistan side in early 2007 to Abu Dhabi in a tournament that consisted of India A, Sri Lanka A, UAE, Kenya, and the Netherlands. Jimmy Maher
James Patrick Maher (born 27 February 1974) is an Australian former cricketer, who played One Day Internationals. He is "an attractive left-handed batsman with a clumping cover-drive". Maher competed in the Gladiator Team Sports Challenge in 1995. Domestic career The following two seasons were a prolific pair for Maher playing for Queensland, a time which included a period at Glamorgan. In 2001–02, he became the first batsman to reach 1000 runs in the Pura Cup. Russel Premakumaran Arnold (Tamil language, Tamil: ரசல் பிரேமகுமரன் ஆனோல்ட், born 25 October 1973), or Russel Arnold, is a former Sri Lankan cricket team, Sri Lankan cricketer of Sri Lankan Tamil people, Tamil descent, who played all forms of the game. Imran Farhat ( ur, , born 20 May 1982) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played for Pakistan national cricket team between 2001 and 2013. Dihan Avishka Gunawardene (born 26 May 1977), is a former Sri Lankan cricketer, who played Tests and ODne Day Internationals. Justin Miles Kemp (born 2 October 1977) is a South African former international cricketer who played all formats of the game for South Africa. Nico Boje ( ; born 20 March 1973) is a South African former cricketer who played in 43 Tests, 115 One Day Internationals and single Twenty20 International for South Africa.
